I started raw only a couple of weeks ago and so far have enjoyed it and appreciated it.

But I realize now that I'm eating tons of nuts and avacados - and I need this - for my own health - to be not only about changing my everyday habits and mental health, but also about some serious weight loss.

Any words/stories/pictures of inspiration would be most appreciated!!

Becca

Hi Beck,

Are you worried about your intake of nuts and seeds or do you need to incorporate them in your diet.

Just eat simple and don't stress too much. raw is exciting and fun and simple.. if you want it to be :p

Some inspiration?
Well I can tell you about my self but there hasn't been major change in weight.
I no longer have arthritis pains. :p
I have so much energy I'm not the living dead anymore ;)
I see clearer, I feel fresh and new and healthy and pure. :)
I have a totally different out look on eating and going to the grocery store. My favorite isle used to be the frozen pizza section LOL.. Now produce and the holistic isle are my fav :D
My fridge looks healthier lol. I have replaced hot dogs with salads and I see more fruit and veggies in it instead of onion skins taking up space lol.
Onions used to be one of the only veggies I used to eat.
I drink more water so my skin is clearer (but pee lots)
I take time to enjoy my life and I have slowed down my life a lot. I enjoy simple things and I don't mind spending 2-3 hours in the kitchen making a delicious raw meal. Before I used to pop in 8 min microwave meals and BING! Dinner's served :p

I have no pictures to post. I am fairly new to this forum. I am one of Alissa's raw teachers. I was mostly raw several years before that. There is no return for me to the old way of eating. I have no aches and pains except when I get back on an exercise routine. :) My skin is so very clear. My energy is high. I am over 50 years old but feel better than I did at 35. Keep moving forward towards the results you are looking for. They will come soon enough.

Hi

I just wanted to let you know that when I first went raw I lost 56 pounds. When I met new people they could not believe that I had 5 children. My freind told me that I looked like a teenager. My husband said I was hot! I got cocky, stopped eating only raw food, gained back all my weight.

When I was raw I felt wonderful, young, alive, happy, and healthy. On SAD I feel lethargic, depressed and moody, fat and grumpy. The thinkg is, when I got all skinny and healthy and happy, I forgot how awful I felt before raw.

So my advise to you is to keep a journal and write down why you want to do raw, how you feel when you eat SAD, how you feel when you eat raw, ect ect anything that will help you to stay raw once you reach your weight and health goals.

Just my 2 cents :)

these pics are by no means as fantastic as some of the other ones out there..but i figured id post em anywasy :p

the first one was BEFORE raw..when i was eating a lot of low-calorie and no-calorie (splenda, aspartame..) foods and, honestly, almost NO fruits and veggies..except maybe the salads from McDonalds

the second one was after about a year of HIGH raw. now, that second picture was taken in the midst of my body nose-diving health-wise..NOT because of raw, but because of a prolonged reaction to birth control i was on for 5 years (my hypothesis, simplified). and yet, being high raw STILL made me look better in that second picture than in that first pic. the second pic hair color is closer to my natural..but it was lighter before bc i was so darned pale.

ive been 100% since jan 1, and i will, of course, post progress pics in the coming months bc i like visuals like that :p

here is a site full of before/after pics for ya too!
