...and I totally forgot to introduce myself! My name is Mona and I live in the north of Sweden. I am a singer/songwriter here. I write poetic songs in swedish. I have been interested in raw food for a very long time, almost ten years. I have never gone a 100% with it though, always just had it as a part of my life more or less. One summer when I ate a lot of raw food I got rid of my menstruation cramps. What a joy! Sadly, they came back when I started to eat cooked again. Now I“m giving it another try.

This is ninth day and I“m really in detox. My throat is sore, the nose is a little runny and my stomach feels sore, a little bit infected almost. That“s the worst part. It“s a hunger that gets worse when I eat. Feels like the stomach wants to rest, drink juice and have simple things, no complicated recipies.

This forum helps me a lot! I go here and read when I feel uncouraged and sad, and I get some inspiration. Thank you for making this forum a place of joy and positive thinking! :)

And please tell me I wont always feel like this...I“d love to hear peoples detox-storys, especially how the bad things disappeared.

VƤnliga hƤlsningar (friendly greetings) /Mona

Congrats Mona on your 9th day!!! This is my 10th day on an exclusively raw diet, and I've also been experiencing some detox symptoms, such as headaches and stomach aches (I never get headaches so I know this is attributable to detox). I've also been having aches and pains all over my body (especially my lower back), and a weird feverish, chilly feeling at night, even though it's not cold. I started taking wheatgrass about 2 months before I went completely raw, and began experiencing detox symptoms then. I went through 6 colds in as many weeks, which was loads of fun, but at least they weren't head colds. Head colds make me feel claustrophobic, like I'm trapped underwater. They were chest colds which I can handle  On the plus side, my craving for cooked starches such as brown rice, pasta, and bread seem to be lessening, and my strength and stamina in the gym have increased. Anyway, no matter how bad or down you might get, just keep it going, because you're doing yourself a huge service! :)

Oh, I discovered that drinking lemon juice mixed with cold water (not tap water) helps shorten the duration of a detox, due to its ability to increase the efficiency of one's eliminative processes. You might want to try that in the mornings one hour before breakfast.

Congrads!

I'm happy for you. I like to think of this forum as our world, because together, we support each other. Everyone has something to bring to the table, whether you've been raw before, or not.

This is my 3rd day. I can't say much about detox symptoms yet except a slight headache yesterday and a little bit of irritability. This process is way easier than I ever thought, and I really do enjoy making uncooked meals. It's fun! Stick with it! :D
