I just saw the trailor for tomorrow's show and they don't show Alissa or her participants??? The entire trailor shows the other "nutritionists" and their clients. Could this mean that Alissa won and her results were so dramatic that they don't want to spoil it ahead of time???
I HOPE SO!!! :p

I bet they only showed the other two because they are pretty famous, what with the shows the host. I can't imagine they would exclude Alissa and her contestants, unless they dropped out -- which I also can't imagine!

Alissa will definately be on the show tomorrow as planned! Along with what you suggested pdx kris, I also think that it's a marketing thing...not only are the other two more "famous" than Alissa in the mainstream, but they were also kinda "bickering" in the clips so it appeared and Alissa, as she said before, isn't into all of that fighting. The producers wanted her to fight with Jillian, but she refused to do it. So, I think that in order to make folks want to see the show, they have to show clips of the stuff they think people will want to see...drama!

Geez louise, good for Alissa for not partaking in bickering just to get more press time. I bet you know who wins already, Rawkinlocks, but aren't telling us. :)
I am very excited to see the show tomorrow!

honestly, i think that Revvell's interview with Alissa pretty much explained what's up with the show and what to expect.

I don't know why they didn't show Alissa in the trailer. Results are pretty amazing but its not what you expect. That's all I will say. I don't want to give it away :p

I'll definitely be on the look out for someone to put it on YouTube.
We don't have a tv, so I'll be watching out for it.
Good for Alissa to not get into the bickering. It speak volumes for peace.
I saw the trailer and thought it was odd! They could have at least shown a picture of Alissa! It comes on at 5 here, can't wait!

I saw the show, and won't give away the results. I thought Alissa's "diet" was portrayed very fairly, to say the least. I thought it was a good "showing" of the raw "diet" and how it can change lives. I better shut up now...I'll give it away.

ok ian smith was first - the girls looked pretty good, they were faithful to the diet, exercised, etc. in the mode of tv drama, though, i doubt they will be the winners. didnt get a number on pounds lost.

wow so jillian's program failed because her girls quit. ian is laughing, jillian is making excuses, and alissa is smiling.
edit: actually the girls lost weight, but they didn't look amazing...just didn't dedicate themselves.

alissa's team did really well! "this is the best thing that ever happened to me"
actually, only one teammate did super - the other couldn't handle raw. however, alissa announced the successful one is considering becoming a chef at alissa's new restaurant north of boston.

BrianC: It's standard netiquette that when one is about to discuss the plot of TV show or movie that not everyone has seen, the person indicates that by saying something like "Warning: Spoilers Ahead" at the beginning of their post. That is so that people can decide for themselves whether or not they want to continue reading and have the "plot" given away to them. Some people like to see shows for themselves without knowing what's going to happen beforehand. ;)

BrianC - Thank you for the play by play!
I totally missed it! My local programming switched it around so it went on 3 hours earlier than the national listings.
I had a feeling who would win though, based on Alissa's earlier intereview with Rev.
Who I really wanted to see was Alissa's successful client, who she said looked better than Tyra.

I was just watching Alissa on the one on youtube, part 5 I think. Wow, the other two were very rude and didn't want to listen! I was shocked! One day, that peanut butter cup will get to her! And Alissa is soooo sweet!! Anyways, my two cents. i didn't want to do another thread about it.

The other two, mainly the guy, annoyed me. He was SO proud. Since the results have been posted I'll just say this: He was the ONLY one that had both participants um, actively participate whole heartedly the completely 3 months. The trainer from Biggest Loser had neither of her's participate as they should, and Alissa had one that did it completely and was a big sucess. In fact if I remember correctly, she lost the most amount as anyone else? She was the only one in my opinion, that expressed a change in her life as a whole and that she feels the best she EVER has and that she's healthy. That man though, can we say ego??

Yeah, I was gonna edit a "spoiler warning" into Brian's post but then thought about it and said to myself, "MOST of the 'Alissa on Tyra' threads were saying something about today's show and most people won't even bother scrolling up to see the warning"
So, I didn't. But Brian did give a hint of a heads-up that he was going to mention the results. I personally figured and knew (earlier this morning) that folks on the East Coast had already seen the show as it airs before it does out here on the West Coast and that they were probably discussing the show, so I purposely avoided any and all "Alissa on Tyra" threads, period, until after I was able to catch the show!
But congrats to the Diet Divas and to Josie - well, actually to ALL of them because they ALL lost weight even if small amounts. I hope the lady at the very end of the show also gets the results and the lifestyle change she needs...I felt so sad for her :(
Alissa, you looked great honey! Way to go with getting raw out there. I'm trying to remember if it was in the interview Alissa did with Revvell or if it was a phone call between the two of us, but I know she mentioned that the camera guy and some of the other staff of the Tyra Show came to her at the taping and were saying either they or loved ones were doing raw and they were asking her all kinds of (good) questions about raw and that people BEHIND THE SCENES on the day they taped were genuinely interested in learning more about eating raw so, she is getting the word "out there"!

i thought alissa handled herself in a lovely fashion. alissa's taller contestant was the only one out of all 6 from whom i felt excitement, happiness, and energy. certainly Ian's contestants lost weight, but alissa's one contestant came out like she was ready to take on the world! i liked how alissa snuck in the "my contestants didnt need to exercise twice a day either..." :)

I thought he was an actor at first lol - at best he has poor bedside manner for a doctor. Ridiculing Jillian was stupid and he looked totally unprofessional. I was surprised Alissa got one contestant to stay on the whole time, that was the biggest weakness in her chances at winning.
Alissa's winner lost 38 pounds, one more than the best on Ian's team, but she weighed 12 pounds more at the start, so she lost .5% less body weight. However, she looked better in my opinion, I don't think she could lose much more. This wasn't a very scientific report.
Glad to hear the restaurant will be near Boston! Hopefully it opens in the next 2 years.

I worked my schedule around seeing the show today...and glad i did! :)
Im so proud that Alissa sat there politely as the other two bickered away. Ummm seriously, are we in grade 2?! They were arguing like kids! But like rawkinlocs said, its drama and thats what sells.
I really hope Josie DOES move to Mass. and work at Alissa's restaurant. She has such a nice energy! She looks like a different person!
Brian - I believe Alissa said her restaurant will be open around Feb/March of this year :D

Jhosie's transformation was amazing.
I am wondering, since the other woman who was so close in amount lost didn't look nearly as good ... if there's a difference in what weight is actually lost on the plans ... fat vs. muscle, etc.
Frankly, I think Jhosie looks like she lost more weight than that ... perhaps she built more muscle?
Congrats to her and Alissa! It really was touching to see how Jhosie's change has turned her entire life around. She found a whole new world. I was really blessed by that.

Brian, I appreciated you giving the outcome.
People who didn't want to know just shouldn't have read it.
It was pretty obvious where you were going.
Not to everyone, some people skim or maybe just aren't reading very carefully to catch every single word. That's why people usually post "SPOILERS" in capital letters or with asteriskes and whatnot to draw attention to the fact that a spoiler is coming, as a warning.
I personally don't care either way -- I didn't have an hour to invest in TV watching today and will catch the show if and when someone posts a link on youtube -- so it really wasn't that important to me, but to other people it might be. Just sayin'. Not trying to get into an argument or anything. I was more like giving BrianC a tip about posting stuff in the future, in case he was unaware of the whole 'spoilers alert' thing.

It was a wonderful show. I almost missed it but my mother called me just in time and is willing to read the book. Anyway that raw foods..ie vegan..are discussed is opening minds and ideas. Keep up the good work all of us in this livity.

I haven't seen the show, but one would think that Ian's girls had built more muscle seeing as how they were exercising twice a day. It might be because Jhosie is much taller and therefore naturally should be at a higher weight?
I'm hoping it will be uploaded to youtube so I can see it too. I think it's a wonderful opportunity for Alissa and raw foods. I loved how in episode 1 Ian says he pretty much cured his grandmothers diabetes, but no way can raw cure diseases... I guess only doctors can cure people with food.
I also think it's interesting that Jillian's girls couldn't stick with her plan when she was saying that the biggest problem with Alissa's plan was that people wouldn't stick with it...

It did seem to me like Sara (?), Jhosie's partner, was about to say that she learned a lot. But she got cut off. I'd venture to guess that even though she had a hard time giving up meat and such, she still likely drastically increased her raw intake, which is awesome! I know it's a diet/weight loss challenge and she didn't lose the pounds, but it's too bad she didn't have a moment or so more to talk about her experience.

I thought Jhosie looked amazing! I think the fact that she was so much taller played a big part in her not loosing MORE weight. I thought she showed so much excitement about her new LIFE.
AND EVEN TYRA mentioned that the food she tried that Alissa made was REALLY good!
Great show.

I thought Alissa looked really healthy and beautiful. I think the show was petty with the fighting. Alissa conducted herself very professionaly and with the warmth that exudes from people who eat raw. I would love to see an entire show with her successes and 'uncooking' segment too.
