Since going raw i can't seem to hold my water and i have to run to the bathroom in order to not have an accident.
Am i all alone on this or not?
Please respond because this is troubling to me.
I use to drink loads of soda but have not done that in quite awhile but i try to drink several glasses of water a day. Can't drink anything after 9:00 pm or it will happen.
Thanks for the support.

Well, first off, the sodas will dehydrate you. So even if you drink a lot of them, you'll hold the water in. If you're just trading out the sodas for water your body will be releasing the stored water from within your tissues. Your body will need time to adjust. After a while your body will be able to handle more and more water. Also, it may seem like you're having to go more if you're eating a lot of watery-filled fruits. :p Keep hanging in there!

I was thinking problems with the kidneys.
You've made me feel a lot better.
I can relax now but stay close to the bathroom and have an extra pair of undies handy :) just in case.

Yes I pee too much lol. Cause I drink lots of water. 4-5 bottles of water :p
More than I ever did before! I used to drink maybe 1-2 glasses of water per WEEK. But I did drink other things in the past too like coffee and pop

There are so many possible causative factors, including age, level of physical activity, medications can do this. . . .

The strange thing to me is that exactly 20 years ago I attempted to go raw vegan on my own. . . . even the same month I started it this time. I had never heard of it - it just made sense to me. I had the worst stomach, bladder and bowel problems and had to quit. I cannot for the life of me understand why I can do it now but could not do it then.

My guess -- you eat a lot of fruit

Try adding a little salt and see if you hold it any better...

Actually salt is deydrating too.

What do you mean by not being able to hold?

One thing is for certain when new to raw, bloating, more frequent bm's or constant urination. These high water content foods and water itself, is like rain on a desert :)

The kidneys need the flush and excessive salts from the body is one of the first imbalances to leave.

If you eat a lot of juicy fruit and veggies, that's basically a LOT of extra water added to the water you already drink. When I have a day high in juicy fruit, I have to "go" more often because of the water from them. I also find a day high in specific fruit (papaya, pineapple) or veggies (lettuce, cukes) very flushing :D

cheers

yep, it's happening to me as well. today is my second day officially raw and I'm noticing a lot more urination.. I knew it was from my fruit consumption plus I try to drink three to four glasses of water while at work. It's a pain to have to get up and go so often but I'm happy about it cause I know it's working and is healthy.

It seems when i feel the urge to go i have to go right then at that moment.
It's odd because the urge comes on and it doesn't seem to be any rush until i stand up to go and then it's a run for the money :)
I'm learning more about what's going on, thanks so much for your help :)
