what's a girl to do?

My shoulders and upper back are sooo stiff. I had a good long stretching session today but still... what can I do short of having a massage? Hubby doesn't "do" massages... :(

Thanks

Others do. Go to someone who does or practice yoga, qigong, or just get some stretching videos.

I naturally carry a lot of tension in my upperback and shoulders as well.
Here's what I do when I can't afford a massage and noone will give me a freebie.

#1. My favorite thing to do is take a nice hot shower and then after the steam is settled in, stretch a bit

#2. I try to get my cats to "kneed" my upper back- tricky to do.

#3. Hot yoga works if you can get a one day pass

#4. Don't kill me guys, but if all else fails, I use flexall

I have no idea what it is from. I get stiff shoulders, and stiff all over my body sometimes. Do you weight train? I do, and I was thinking that, that could be part of the cause.

If it gets too painful, I find more relief from acupuncture than massage.

if youre not 100%, then make the plunge :D .. no really, food intolerances can cause this.

i also see a chiropractor to help with this. they can crack all the bones between the shoulders blades that you could never crack on your own and ooh jeez it feels so much better afterwards.

i know some people are wary of chiros, but i most definitely notice a difference when im seeing one regularly. *shrug*
