i am interested in making some of the recipes for crackers and the like that call for flax seeds. Is there an alternative that i can use as i am highly allergic to flax?
Thank You!

I find that Crackers are the easeist things to make, you can use sunflower seed and just about any seed. I make some of my best crackers by experiments. You can even make Banana Crackers, again I don't use a recipe but do use the "SEARCH" at the Top of the page and it will lead you to recipes.........

Any seed or nut will do but seeds are particularly good. Mixing them with greens makes really healthy green crackers - its an easy way to eat your greens without noticing. I've never tried hemp seeds but I bet they make nice crackers, and I love pumpkin seeds. Pick your favourite seed and herb and go for it. Good luck!

Sounds good. i think i will start with sesame seeds. It's hard to go wrong with sesame seed crackers.

navashira....I substitute chia seeds for flax seeds in the famous "onion bread" recipe and it comes out fantastic! I believe chia has as much or more of the omegas as well! I love them.

Chia is a GREAT idea! They have the same type of mucilage that flax has and they're very nutritious! Thanks!
