I have seen several posts that are right along with my own thinking and coming from long frustrating searches for recipes when you don't have the time!

Soooo....I am currently working on a project to create an online database for your favorite raw recipes that can be found through the many sites already online, including this one. This is just to get a central, fully searcheable, and user-friendly place for raw recipes. I also want to include user ratings and tips, so as things are added and tried, people can come back and give their rating. You will know before you try a recipe the general idea of how good it is.

My hubby is a software developer with experience in databases and web programming so I it is really all his project. I am just the organizer and idea creator!

Wow, all this plus in the beginning stages of writing a book on raw food for kids...am I crazy? I just think the need is high and these things would be received well.

This database will give full credit to the creator of the recipe, so if you have recipes you want to submit, please email me at nuttyrawmom@yahoo.com with your recipes. I don't want to infringe upon any copyrights, so please don't submit recipes that are published (unless they are yours!). I will only include those recipes with permission from the author of the book it was published in.

As soon as I get a decent amount compiled, it will go live.
I will give a link for the site when that happens.

Is anyone interested? Do you think it would be used?

There is an existing site such as what you're describing in place already. It's a pretty good site where you can rate recipes and add comments, and see other people's comments on the recipe and suggestions. It's small right now but hopefully it will grow in the coming year, because I think it's set up well it just needs members to post more recipes. :)

Here's a link: Gone Raw (http://www.goneraw.com)

NuttyRawMom,

Sounds great! I've been collecting recipes for some time, just for my personal use, so I love the idea of a central place to share our favorite recipes.

Keep us posted! Oh, and yes, I'll be sending along my own recipes as I experiment with them...

Will the site be opened to all or a charge?

There is a book for kids. It probably is mainly raw but here's the name:
Hallelujah Kids, Julie Wandling
Read more about it at this site where it is sold too:

hacres.com sells it

Maybe the library would be able to get it or even Barnes & Noble may have it or even Family Christian Bookstores may carry it.

Julie has her kids do a lot of the testing too. Best to your ideas.

Thanks to all for the thoughts on this!

I hadn't yet discovered the new gone raw site, so thanks for the tip! This was just what my husband and were thinking was needed out there. We are trying to decided if we should go ahead with our idea now that someone else has started this site....but at the same time we had a few different things in mind for our project. Hmmm....will be thinking this one over!

If we set this up, it will be a free use, no charge site with membership set up. I don't want just anyone coming in and putting new 'junk' recipes or comments in there.

Also, thanks carolg for the book recommendation. I know of her book as I was first introduced to raw through the Hallelujah Acres program. I don't have it. I should buy it to compare what I want to write to what is already in hers. I have been having great feedback so far from people about my post in the raising kids forum, so it is exciting.

I'll keep you posted on what our final thoughts are!
