Hello!

I came accros this site a few days ago and just wanted to say hi. I found about raw food last summer and dabbled in it but didn't feel I could commit to eating a raw food diet as it just seemed so at odds with the rest of society. However after feeling really under the weather for a couple of months I just got to the stage where I was willing to do anything to start feeling healthier.

I've been pretty much 100% raw for a couple of weeks now and feeling so much better emotionally, more positive and also phsically looking much healthier. I do struggle a bit with cravings for cooked foods, but I think that's mostly because I end up eating a lot of the same things (fruit or salad) and I just fancy something different. This forums been great because it's inspired me by looking at the great pictures of great food other people are making!

Bye x

Hi and welcome.
I found that one of the advantages of logging on to this site is that it makes you feel that you are not going against what is is normal and that eating raw is normal.
I also understand what you mean about having something that is a bit different from just fruit and veggies all of the time. I think that this is where the degydrator comes in handy. You can make crackers and get that crisp feeling. I also find that the texture of ice-cream gives the feeling of being something different.

K, your definately not alone on that one!!! i live in Scotland(brrrr) and have just gone raw at the beginning of the year. I am finding it very hard at the mo to stay 100%
Hopefully that will change!

I'm in South Devon! I've been raw for two weeks now and it's a bit difficult when it gets too cold, but then I have a cup of tea and remember what I heard on the radio recently - that 2007 will be yet ANOTHER record-breaking year in terms of high temperatures! Obviously not thrilled about the climate change implications, but it does make it easier to eat raw!

Sometimes it matters not what the world says, it always seems as though everyone has an openion when it comes to Your Health. I applaud you for embarking on your Journey.

Things WILL warm up soon and we can play in the water and eat Ice Creme. We have more warm days than cold. If you put them all together I guess we have about 6 weeks of winter. But I feel your pain, just hang on.

I wish you everything you need to Stay RAW.......Welcome to MY World.........

Oh my God being raw in Scotland must be really hard. I have family living in the highlands (up past Fort William) and I was up at Christmas and it was very cold (plus my uncle dosen't really belive in putting the heating on so multipul layers required at all times!) Was glad to come home to my cosy house!

I'm going on a raw food beginers course at the weekend in Ely so I'm hoping that will give me a bit more inspiration. I do have a dehydrator but so far most of my crackers/breads have been a bit disasterous. Either so hard I can't bit into them or so crumbily they won't stay together. Hopefully I'll learn what i'm doing wrong!

Thank you so much for your welcome x
