I will be moving there in May.

There seems to be a few raw foodists there.

What is the town like? I'll be living within walking distance of downtown and the bay. I'm really excited about this next journey.

Be well.

Moonstone- I used to spend my winters there. We had a shop in St. Armands Circle many years ago. What a GREAT place. I miss it a lot.

I'm sure you will find many rawbies when you get there. Plus-I know there will an abundance of fresh Raw everything.

I keep telling my DH that we should go back to Sarasota..Maybe next winter. It was my fav spot down there as we traveled all over the state.

Love the downtown & all the artsy boutiques & galleries.

Enjoy the sunshine.. :)

Oh my goodness! I just moved away from Sarasota a couple of years ago.

*weeps* Oh, god, how I miss it!

Lots of "granola people" there, or at least there were when I lived there. :)

I just love Sarasota. I mean... of all the places I've lived in my life (and that's a lot), I miss Sarasota (and only Sarasota) with my whole being.

The drawback to Sarasota is that it is the 10th most segregated city in the USA  I did really hate that about it at first, but then I got over it from the standpoint of, I simply didn't treat people in a segragative manner. I didn't accept any segragative responses from them, either. As in, I would smile and talk with people, instead of just sitting there in silence and ignoring everyone around me like so many people do. I'm speaking here of public transportation.

Which, by the way, their public transportation is the best I've ever seen. Really fabulous. As a "green person" who prefers public transport (though I own a car), a good PT system is highly prized. And theirs really is phenomenal.
