Ok, as I was skimming through the recipe section, I noticed ALOT of recipes included Nuts. My son is allegic to every kind of nut possible.
So how would I substitute something that called for some kind of nut?

Maybe flax seed crackers and breads but omit nuts? The golden flax would be more palatable perhaps, but the darker flax does impart a nutty flavour. Flax is the glue for the other ingredients really, so if you skip the nuts in dehydrator recipes and add veg, herbs or sweet fruit to make any flavours he likes it would work. The "creamy" recipes that are made with nuts are harder with replacing, but frozen bananas blitzed up with vanilla or other fruits is very creamy too...

What kinds of things would you like to make for him? It's super you're doing this...

Well..I'm kind of new at this, but I'd like to get all of my childern to start enjoying live/raw foods. We eat only Organic foods, so I think jumping to the next step won't be so hard....I hope. :o
Pizza is a favorite, so are all the pastas with sauces.
They also like thier desserts.
I have a great juicer, but I don't have a dehydrator yet, but have been doing research on the net. trying to find the best one for my family. Fun..fun..fun. :D

Green smoothies are awesome to intro to kids too. I call them Shrek shakes! Who wouldn't wanna drink something named after Shrek? :D Simple. To 2 cups filtered water add a banana, a handful of spinach and an apple. It's sweet, yummy, and GREEN!
Also you may want to do a search (banana up top) about kids and raw. I feel there's loads of info posted here on the subject.
Good luck!!!

Ahava, while a severe allergy to nuts isn't something to fool around with as it can be life threatening, a mild allergy such as I have might resolve on the raw diet after eating other raw stuff for a while. Non-raw nuts caused me serious digestive problems as in pain, gas and the d word. Now that I only eat raw nuts they don't give me any problems. Oranges don't hurt me any more either. Depending on how severe your son's allergy is it might be worth thinking about. Cool huh!?
