This is interesting - any thoughts?

I thought the "expert" was completely uninformed about protein. And I'm not a big fan of Sally Jesse Rafael.

Wow those people so need to read The China Study...

...Ms. Stokes did a great job (as best a job most anyone could have done in that situation), just wish she had more air time.

I can't bring myself to remark too much on the whole "protein" thing...ugh.

One thing that was so ridiculous was SJR exclaiming that an older person could never do what Angela Stokes did, because of the "lack of nutrients" (or something to that effect).

Argh! What do these women live under a rock or something? I didn't think anyone left in the entertainment industry didn't know about the raw diet.

I wish I had the e-mail address to the show!

It sounded like they were totally raw illiterate:eek:

They need to read the China Study AND Living on Live Food. I'm amazed that they don't know anything about raw and living foods. The comments that weresaid about older people not benefitting from going raw and protein sickened me:eek:

Here's the link to her website:

you can leave comments there.

Oh - thank you!

This is what I sent in:

I was given the link to your Angela Stokes interview on raw food. I am actually in shock that your partner had such little knowledge about protein. Frances Lappen, who orginally stated that rice and beans needed to be eaten together to make a complete protein was wrong and 20 years later has renounced that theory. You cannot get any nutrients from animal food that you can get through plant food and I challenge you to prove that. It would benefit you to read The China Study, an indepth study of nutrition and health on the actual human needs of protein. Young AND old have benefitted immensly from a fresh plant food diet.

Why don't you take the challenge yourself - eat nothing but ripe whole fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds for a month and see the benefits. With a little investigation, you will see that denatured food is what is causing harm to a body, not fresh plant food.

I was never a big fan of SJR either, and I think that interview was done in a tabloid fashion. She did the bare minimum of pre-interview "research", as it sounded like all she did was read Angela's blog.

Someone further into raw than I am should send her a link to the USDA nutrition analysis of a few greens and fruits so that she could see that what she "highly doubted" and flat out disbelieved about their protein content is indeed true. Oh, and the bit on the WHO site about their dietary recommendations on protein consumption.

I lived the protein myth for so long, and I felt like something stuck to the bottom of your shoe. I get sooooo angry about what food lobbies have done to promote nutritional misinformation, because of the harm it causes people. And to hear the ignorance spread in such annoying fashion really just saddened me.

...another thing I remember from the witch hunt, erm I mean interview. Angela tells her what she's been drinking, and a minute or 2 later, SJR asks "you never told us what you're drinking"...as if she wasn't even paying attention.
