Like many others on this forum, I have been seriously considering taking the Teacher certification in March.
However, I have some questions. Bottom line, what is the ROI (return on investment). Two thousand dollars is a very big deal for my family. Realistically, what kind of $$$$ are people making after taking the course? What percentage of people succeed, from a financial perspective that is, and how many learn great stuff and then don't ever make the money back and then some?
Obviously, a person has to have committment, resolve, initiation, etc. but what does it really take to bring in a significant income?
I KNOW the class will be more than worth it from a personal/emotional/learning perspective, I don't doubt that in the slightest.
I would more like to hear from those who have gone through--- bottom line-- are you making money?
thanks in advance for your comments!!!!!!

Let's just say that one day, I made a little over $500 doing a simple, 2-hour raw demonstration. For the month of January, I've so far generated about $1800 from people having pre-registered for both Levels One and Two. This is working in my own home, my own hours, doing something I absolutely LOVE. I had taken a little part-time gig at Ross Store and I make more money in one day doing these classes than I did for a whole month there.
You get out of it what you put into it. I've definitely made back the cost of the class and THEN some! But you have to market yourself, put yourself out there, don't be afraid to contact local-area health stores, colonic centers, massage therapists, etc. and ask them if you can hold classes in their facilities. Also, invest in placing advertisement for yourself. Do demos at Wholefoods, etc. to generate a mailing list or just to get some leads. Yes, you will get people contacting you via Alissa's website and your listing on there, and I used to rely solely on that and posting a few flyers here and there. But I am learning that I must invest in my business by promoting and advertising what I have to offer as well as getting my name out there in my local area.
Just a few of the things that I've done and plan to do to establish my business.

I've not even got Alissa's name/training behind me and when I was teaching I was doing quite well.
As Rawkinlocs said, it's a business! You have to do the due diligence to make it happen. Just sitting back and expecting LOTS of students from her or your website to come pouring in is not going to cut it. You have to start from the beginning and treat it as a business.
Many are not making it because they aren't doing what's necessary. The ones who are, may not even see your question so don't let that stop you. If you WANT a business in the raw food field ~ go for it.

thanks for the responses!! I am hoping for more- the more, the better!
Marketing, running a business is something I don't know a whole lot about. I would be willing to do what it took, if I knew the what's and the how's-- the logistics- to make it happen. I am not scared to talk to people, I am not scared to be rejected for the most part, that is, I just don't know all the successful things TO DO.
Rawkinlocs, you gave me great ideas, thank you!! I have checked out your webpage and am very impressed at the heart and soul you have put into it.
Does Alissa address the business aspect and marketing part of things at all during the course? Just curious. She, obviously, is on FIRE in that area!!! that women tuckers me out just thinking about what she does!!!!!! Amazing.

Hi Rawnpawgirl,
There is so much about this class that its hard to describe!
Here is a VERY brief breakdown, but please keep in mind there is SO much that cannot even be expressed about what happens in the class.
In between everything and interspersed through every day there are techniques and self discovery tools which Elaine teaches us.
The first half day and the whole second day are all about the food with Alissa. Again, interspersed with the food stuff (as they are very long days) are tools and techniques to get you in touch with your true self, prepare you to be a good teacher and to teach from the heart, etc
The third day is all about questions and answers. Alissa literally sits in a circle with us and answers any and all questions that we have. She doesnt stop until everyones questions are answered. Again, interspersed with fun learning tips and self growth bits and pieces. We got plenty of breaks and chances to stretch and eat but these are very full days.
The 4th day is all about money. Money money money! How to do the business part of this, how to promote yourself, how to budget , set up a class and how to create a business that you want whether it is with raw foods or anything else. Elaines prosperity exercise was awesome and it was my light bulb moment!
Day 5 is the most amazing experience, I cant tell you about it because it will ruin it! Just let me tell you that it is a life changing experience for sure.
This whole class is worth everything, it was worth my life. Seriously, this class changed so much for me. I truly feel like a different person after just 5 days.
Most days it was 9am to 8 pm. Monday started at 8pm because it ends about 6-7pm.
We cried, we laughed, we rejoiced. Most of us left in shock that this was such a life changing experience. It was the most amazing experience. I think thats why there is not a lot of writing on this site about it! Its really hard to describe!
Its a totally experiential experience! You dont read this in books and there are no glossy handouts in this class. Its real, hands on, life changing, and has to be experienced.

Thank you for posting this! I called yesterday to speak with Elaine.
There area spots still available for January but March is getting filled very quickly! I think Im going to sign up for this. Elaine said she and Alissa are creating new programs but that these will be the last teacher trainings, at least for right now.
Im so excited!

I won't be signing up for the teacher certifications. I asked a family member for help getting money together and she said "No, what good will it do for you?" That hurt, coming from someone who eats meat and junk food everyday:eek:.

I'm curious if alissa will be doing more classes in the future.. I know she's going to be so busy with her new restaurant/radio show/ and who knows what other appearances she does.....
I'm so new to raw that I feel I really need to do it for myself first and see the results before I start even thinking about teaching it to other people though... but if I get the results I think I will, I'm going to be so passionate about it, I know I'm going to want to start teaching and spreading the info on such a healthy way of life!
I'm taking my first class this saturday.. the level I class.... so I guess it's a start.

Alissa has a radio show now? Wow..where? Gosh, that lady is a shaker.
I enjoyed reading everyone's feedback here also about the certification. I have realized you can only depend on yourself to promote you, but you can create relations that support others and yourself so they help get your name out. Thinking "win-win."
I know choices are hard to make limited on funds. I recently invested $400 in a series of motivational cd's. My husband thought I was crazy, but I figured one life changing tip to help boost my career was worth more than that in gold. Just my 2 cents. Oh, I remember a preacher/speaker one time talking the message "How big is your Want to?" It makes it all come together when making my choices of how to spend money.
It sounds like the program is fabulous but gotta weight the time/investment vs. the $ expense of training. Wishing everyone the best as we all benefit from your training and wisdom.

Best to you all.
