Hey there I have been wanting to transition to raw vegan and just having such a hard time, I am such a HUGE emotional person, any sort of emotion comes my way, boredeom especially I just stuff my face, its awful. I want to clean my life out and be free, its tough. I don't know if I am just not strong enough or have the willpower, I don't know, I want to so much just don't feel like I have it in me, Any helpful hints?? I already ordered Victoria Butenko's(spelling) '12 steps to raw' should be here monday, I hope that helps too! Thanks!! :)

Wow - are you ever in the right place! We've all been there and done that. My suggestion is to try not to over-think it. I believe we all have that tendancy. A friend of mine recommends transitioning slowly - adding one meal a day that's raw for one week, then two meals a day, then three, etc. That allows you to feel like you are moving into the lifestyle instead of changing your "diet."
Now, having said that, I know there are several folks here, myself included, that preferred the over-night cold-turkey (so to speak) approach. Think about it and do what you feel is right for you.
One more note: may I suggest getting Alissa's book as well? I could NEVER have made this change without it, and I have several others- including the one you mentioned above. They are all very helpful at times, but Alissa's is the most simple and delicious approach.
Best wishes in your jouney. I know you are going to feel just great about all this very soon! It's contagious!

Ditto to MaRAW......
If you want to stuff your face, go ahead......Just open the fridge and stuff it with EVERYTHING RAW you can. That is why it is so IMPORTANT to keep RAW food HANDY, READY PREPARED, just go for it first, once it is in the belly and its full and sends a wave to the brain, it doesn't care-its happy.
Stay tuned to this channel for all the support you need and do READ all you can about RAW. Until your Books arrive, search the web and READ all you can, use the SEARCH at the top of this page and find old Threads. You can spend so much time on your computer you won't have time for anything else. I used to fall asleep writing.
Welcome to the Family.......I wish you everything you need to Stay RAW........Welcome to MY World...........

Transitioning into the diet works best for a lot of people....adding a little bit more raw food into the diet day by day can not only help you avoid detox symptoms but gives you a time to adjust to the "shock" of a whole new way of eating. This will give you time to experiment with recipes if you desire, too. :)

Get real busy with something else and pack a bunch of produce with you for whenever you get hungry and just eat it as you go about whatever it is. The cool thing about raw for me is that on my lunch break I can write because I don't have to eat - because I eat a little bit here and there of raw produce before I even get to lunchtime.

Thank you all graciously for your advice and help. Tomorrow is a new day, and I pray to take more of a control of myself and learn to deal with my emotions rather than surpress them in food. I know it wont be easy, but I guess its better than constantly pushing them away!
