Hi, All!

First post from a new raw enthusiast.

I'm loving the raw food lifestyle so far (after being a fish eating vegetaran for the last 16 years) and was eager to try recipes that called for a dehydrator. Money is short, but I went ahead and bought this cheap dehydrator.

No real complaints so far, but just wondered if anyone else has one and/or knows what temp it heats to? Alissa's recipes and others I've seen indicate the temp to set to. Obviously, this isn't a temp control model. Just curious...

Thanks in advance!

Becca

Sorry Beckla ... I thought this was the model I have until you said it didn't have a temperature control. Mine has a temperature control on it.

Do you have an oven thermometer? Put it in your dehydrator and plug it in and check it in an hour or so ...

Beckla,

Is there anyway you can take the dehydrator back? If so, you can get the American Harvest that DOES have a temp. control from like Walmart or Walmart.com.

Otherwise, to find out the temp. of the one you have currently, you could contact the company and ask them what temp. it's "set" at...and then as Girlsmiley suggested, get a thermometer to see the actual temp. the food gets. Here is their website: www.nesco.com

If you decide you want a try the real thing keep this in mind. I am selling an almost new 9 tray excalibur. I bought it for my sister who has cancer and was going to try a raw food diet but after 2 days gave up on it and is now on a macrobiotic diet. I have 2 5 trays and really have no use for it. She never used it but I used 1-3 times over the holidays. I want $125. plus shipping. e-mail me if your interested.
