HI all, I am presently waiting on my dehydrator to come but I am craving some crackers, bread, tortillias anything like that. What can I do till then? I have avoided the temptation so far, but I need the calvary to give me hand to last a few more days. What say you? Also is there a way to find out ( other than posting) if there is anyone on the group who lives in theTampa Bay area? Thanks, Denise from Thonotosassa, FL

I say grab some crunchy carrots, or celery, or nuts! You just THINK you want those cracker type foods...nah. You really don't.
Fill up on a green smoothie!

Well that is exactly what I have been doing and it is getting old. Any other ideas? :)

Im waiting for my dehydrator too. Im super excited. It was free cycled to me by Asparaw.
i dont do anything in the mean time other than make salads to keep my self from wanting bread type foods. I dont always make green salads either. I Like chick peas, and corn, black olives and etc in a salad. Unique and filling :p

if you go pick up flax meal, or make your own if you want, and then combine that in a food processor with a bit of olive oil and a bit of finely chopped up veggies, itll make the dough to a raw bread..you could just eat that out of a bowl or on top of a salad. it tastes good, and is very filling. this is what i used to do before i had a dehydrator. if you have alissas book look up the simplest pizza crust..that was always my favorite pre-dehydrated.

This will take a day or 3 but the raw oatmeal: oatgroats soaked overnight and then blended with water or oj or almond mylk and fruit/dates whatever your little heart desires. It definately calms the grain crave. Soaked wild rice made into a salad, tabouli with ground almonds instead of bulghur, Alissa's chili with the sprouted barley. Yes , I know they aren't crackers or bread but they are grains and that can help. When I was first learning about raw I used ezekial sprouted corn tortillas as a non-raw but healthy alsternative. Manna bread is ok, too. Good luck, I hope your dehydrator comes soon!!

These sound good! I do have Alissa'a book and I will try all of this. I have been using the ezekial too. Thanks! I have chick peas sprouting and I thought I would make the hummus recipe in the book and that would help. I will try the flax meal with the olive oil and veggies too! I must have missed the pizza crust, I will look it up! Thanks for the help!
