Hi! I currently live in Scotland, i have been trying out the Raw lifestyle and have seen massive improvements to my health! I find it very hard to live a normal life here because of the lack of knowledge and availability on this subject in the UK.I was wondering is there any where that the Raw way of life is not frowned apon? I have heard California is really well equip for this way of living.

I am in my late twentys and know that the only way for me to live a healthy life is to go the Raw route. I am even thinking about moving.

Any advice would be great!

thanks!
:)

That’s a tough one! The cities, such as NYC, San Fran and LA have by far the most/best restaurants. But you also may opt to be in a place in the country like VT where organic fruits and veggies are abundant at local farmers markets, and the state is very environmentally conscious, also land/room to grow your own. Or even better a tropical place where fresh local produce is available year round!
I visited my mother in the Bay Area (CA) this holiday and was pleased with the availability or raw restaurants, and awareness of the lifestyle, but the area is overpopulated and polluted...too many people and too much traffic! Not exactly the lifestyle I want to live when I think of a peaceful natural setting.
I visited Maui this summer as well and was pleased to know there were at least 2 lunch type places on the island that offered raw options, though regular produce and cost of living is very high there.
I've heard that Florida is very open minded to alternative medicine and eating habits, but I haven’t seen for myself.
I grew up on the East Coast, and most of my school years were in Vermont, after growing up there I thought the U.S. recycled and cared deeply about enviromental issues...that was over ten years ago, and now living in Colorado I realize just how far behind we are. They don't even give you 5 cents to recycle soda cans here! It's seems harder to find a place to take your recycleables, where in VT you could get fined for throwing them away.

If you find a liberal well educated area anywhere with a good local organic store of even a whole foods/wild oats you can make your own scene:)

Well, what about Brighton? Brighter than Scotland (more hours of sun I mean, Scotland is equally beautiful), and has a shop and a raw community. Kate Wood is the woman behind it.

www.rawliving.co.uk I think is the website.

im moving out to california this summer for that very reason. id like to be able to immerse myself in this lifestyle to the fullest extent (meaning raw friends, regular potlucks, sustainable living as the norm, etc), and thats something that i had a hard time finding in chicago, toronto, rome, and lugano.

I read your post. I live in Orange County California and have been 100 per-cent raw for a month and loving it. Alissia's recipes are the best and I know I can do it now.
