Hello I am 18 and i have started to get rosacea. When i do certain things my cheeks get so red a burn! Has anyone had this problem and cleared it up? I need help! My cheeks turn this colour
I was thinking that maybe its an allergy too something? Has anyone found this?
Does anyone have any suggestions for clearing this up? What did you do to help it?

these products will help clear rosacea and are all natural: www.seabuckthornoil.com
its a company based out of canada, but seabuck thorn oil in general should help you. i just particularly like the lotions that the above website offer as opposed to the oil on its own. also makes your skin feel so so smooth.

Zinc helps to clear it up as well. Go to the dollar store and buy some baby bumb rash cream. It's made of Zinc and could be a really inexpensive way to see if zinc helps. :D

I use LUSH products. In particular the Imperialis face lotion w/lavendar and rose, and the Breath of Fresh Air toner spray with aloe.
They are both particularly effective at soothing the skin and easing rosacea. They are also pretty inexpensive.

Before going 100% raw I had very bad rosecea. None of the perscription meds did much more than keep it under control. None of the supplements and/or naturopathic stuff helped, either. I was forever looking like I had a sunburn. But, I'd say after about 6 months of raw, my rosecea was barely noticable. Now, it rarely is evident...usually only shows when my body is detoxing which it is right now.
The doctors told me that rosecea is a virus...and it's heretitary...and incurable....whatever!
P.S. My toenail fungus also cleared up without medication since being 100% raw...and I tried everything for that too (except for the liver distroying perscriptions they advertise on tv).
Whats your diet like?
Rosacea can often be related to poor dietry choices.
Maybe keep a diary of the foods eaten prior to a flare up
good luck :)

Well my diet is pretty good (could be better) i do eat meat and cooked stuff.
I was just wondering if it also could be a yeast allergy or a milk allergy? Has anyone heard of this affecting Rosacea?
thanks for the advise.

Whatever is right, Frec. Nobody truly knows what causes it...I used to get it on my chin...no more though. rah rah raw!

Rosacea can also be triggered by individual reactions to some foods/condiments. The best way to find this out, is to log your food and see how your body reacts. If you do that for some time you will most likely find a pattern and can adjust your intake.
I have noticed that my keratosis pilaris, broken capillaries and rosacea got a lot better on a high raw diet. My keratosis pilaris was almost gone!
cheers

Are you considering introducing more raw foods into your diet?
A green smoothie a day may be a good place to start.
It would be worth keeping a diary to see if any foods trigger a flare up.
Rosacea has also been linked to low stomach acid.
Might be worth checking that out :)

Rosacea has also been linked to low stomach acid.
I hadn't heard that. Do you have any studies on that? My derm has never suggested that, but she also thinks that teenage acne is in no way related to diet.

Never mind, I googled and found lots of articles.
I haven't had rosacea flairs since doing photofacial treatments over a year ago, but since my son deployed in September, my diet kind of tanked, and with stress, lack of sleep and poor diet, I've had quite a flaire lately.
I'd done a ton of reading back when mine was REALLY bad and found references to bacteria, etc, and it fully makes sense that the bacterial flair could be caused by low stomach acid, but that link wasn't suggested in any of the literature I was reading then, and certainly not by my derm.
So, yeah, with this information, I'd definitely suggest reading Victoria Boutenko's Green for Life and her discussions about diet and low stomach acid. Green smoothies and fruit and salads, what an easy fix.

Hi D'vorah
I cant provide you with a study about the link between low stomach acid and rosacea, its just one of those things that i picked up whilst studying complementary therapies over the years.
If i can source a reference i will post it for you.
Stress also affects stomach acid, so sounds like your recent circumstances may have contributed to the current flare up.
Im pretty sure that Victoria mentions the link between low stomach acid and rosacea in Greens for life.
so yes, increasing greens would be a good idea!

She may have mentioned the link, and it's possible I missed it. I love that book, I need to re-read it.
Thanks,
Deborah
