View Full Version : Soaking raw almonds..are they bad if they float?

i thought i read somewhere that when you soak your almonds, the ones that float to the top have already gone bad. does anybody know if theres any truth to this? many thanks! :)

I've seen that in reference to grains when you soak 'em...but not so sure about the nuts.

I usually discard any that float after I've soaked them overnight. I'll give it a chance by pushing it down with my finger, and if they settle, ok. If they still float I assume they've gone rancid or dead. Just my assumption though, I don't really know for sure.

How ironic! And I always thought "floaters" were good and "sinkers" were bad! :p LOL! Sorry for the gross humor...couldn't resist! :D

Have you tried to spout the floating ones? If they sprout, they are good then, I would think.
