I have seen a jar of raw coconut cream advertised online...what is it? I have the raw coconut butter, but I had it once in a recipe and it was so rich that I got nauseous. Anyone tried the coconut cream? If so, what did you use it in?

Alissa sells it. Look at her store web site. Also, this is her description:

Description:

No Compra Drying, Nochemicals, no heating, no hydrogenation, no refining, non-GMO

Truly organic beyond certification!

“Why I decided to use and promote this coconut oil:

There are many studies out about the benefits of coconut oil. These studies show that using coconut oil can help with a number of ailments such as: thyroid, diabetes, chronic fatigue, heart disease, IBS, improving digestive disorders, lowering cholesterol, boosting energy and losing weight.

So, I thought about putting some coconut oil up on my site here to sell but as soon as I tasted it I knew I couldn’t do that. I tried the brand that was selling the most and then tasted a few more. It tasted rancid to me! I couldn’t believe that anyone would eat this stuff! So over the next year I began to taste even more and more coconut oil and eventually just came to the conclusion that it must be me, that it doesn’t agree with me and it just didn’t seem natural.

Further down the road… I was giving a seminar at a friends store and he asked me if I ever tasted the virgin oil De Coco- Crème. I told him of my experience with coconut oil and he said, “I know, I had the same reaction. It just didn’t feel right to me either, but this one is different’. He took out 8 jars of all different kinds of oil and had me smell them. One of the ones that didn’t smell too bad he had me taste, against my better judgment! One of the most popular brands promoted by one of the ’top’ raw fooders was so rancid it smelled burnt to me!! Then, he had me smell and taste the coco-crème. It was like night and day. He gave me a jar of it and I began using it on my face as my moisturizer everyday. My skin has never been smoother and I was amazed that it didn’t make me break out and never felt greasy! I started using it in my hair and it’s never been so soft and shiny! That bottle lasted me for more then 8 months and even sitting in my upstairs bathroom cabinet it never went rancid or got old.

I started making raw chocolate with the coco-crème and began using it in other recipes as well and I could not believe the difference in taste between this and all the other coconut oils that I’ve tried.

I absolutely love this coconut oil! Once someone tries this they never go back to using the other kinds out there promoted as natural and clean. It is of such high quality.

I would NEVER use any other coconut oil and I think once you try this one, you wont either!” Alissa Cohen

Unfortunately, that is the one I have that kind of made me sick. Does that mean that her product (the coconut butter) is the same as the coconut cream that I saw online elsewhere? Just wondering if they are similar and whether or not the "cream" would have the same effect on me. Thanks for your help. :)

That is the cutest Avatar Raw-Siobhan! Did you make it or find it somewhere? I have been using and enjoying the coconut oil and cremed coconut from Tropical Traditions but I have just put in an order for Alissa's brand to compare after reading the thread here so far. The only thing I didn't like about the T.T. brand is when I was cooking with it (pre-raw) it didn't smell too good when heated but otherwise I liked the scent of it.

Thanks so much for your help with the coconut butter/cream issue. I totally appreciate it. :)

Regarding the avatar, I just got it off the internet...thanks so much for the compliment, though. :)
