I bought a ginger root the other day, but I don't know how to store it. Can I just keep it in one of my fruit bowls, or should it go in the fridge? It's currently on the kitchen counter. TIA!

Hi Amy...I just stick it in the fridge...I use the butter compartment for my garlic and ginger...
Yum!!! Ginger in green smoothies is wonderful!!!

I store mine in the fridge, and I also freeze part of it. It so much easier to grate when it is frozen. Just a little trick that I learned along the way.

Another trick I learned is to peel ginger with a spoon edge.

I keep in in the fridge in a plastic bag. Sealed plastic bag if I have cut into it.

I wrap it in a piece of newspaper or paper and store it in the veggie compartment. You could also peel the ginger, cut it into smaller pieces and store them in some water in the fridge.
