In 7 days I will be back at school and beginning my raw adventure. I've done a ton of reading and listening and experimenting and I know it's the right time for me to start. Before I begin, I do have a few questions. If these are part of some FAQ you can just refer me to that. I haven't read Alissa's book, though I plan to.

If I stay 100% raw from Sunday until Easter, and then eat a traditional Italian cooked dinner at my girlfriend's grandparents' house, what will the consequences be? Will I be set back in some way, have to "start over," simply fast for 2 days, or will I just remind my body of foods I don't want it to remember?

Are there any serious dangers of going raw, provided I eat and drink enough, and get a variety of fruits, vegetables, and nuts?

Thanks for your help everyone. I'm lucky that one of my 10 housemates will be doing the same thing. I may not have all the knowledge yet, but I am definitely Ready, Able, and Willing! ;-)

Ready, Able, and Willing!
I love that!!!

I don't believe there are any *serious* dangers in going raw as long as you eat a variety of fruits, vegetables, sprouts, nuts, and seeds. Just as with any way of eating, balance and variety is key :) No "one" item will contain all the nutrients you need ...

As far as what I think will happen on Easter ... after you eat that traditional Italian meal, if you even want to eat it all, you will have a bad stomach ache! And, I would plan to fast afterward just to kill any cravings that would have been stirred up ... just my opinion.

I suggest you tell them ahead of time that you eat raw. They shouldn't have any problem with raw tomatoes, salad, or spices. Finding raw olives may be a bit more difficult.

I don't know your stomach, but for me, occasionally eating up to 100 g of whole grain is tolerable, as long as the majority of the meal is raw. Cooked meat and cheese are complete no-nos. If you eat cooked that day, I suggest lots of fruit the next few days - that's the best way for me.
