I just encountered a young woman that at the age of only 20 has severe fatty infiltration of her liver, which is bad health news. She is obese (as am I, so I am certainly not pointing any fingers). There is a lot of information I dont have about her. However, the fact that she is so young and substancially overweight leads me to believe it is primarily diet related. That leads my to my current rant...You know what??? That could be my sweet children in just a few years if I dont take control of my life and (as mom) their life with regards to diet. My goodness! It really hit me hard. It turns it into so much more of a health emergency for my family than simply a craving thing for me, you know? Holy cow...

It happens! Thats what we get for eating so much unheathy junk!
I am umm ...chunky....too. :o
Its so addicting, I wonder how many people are addicted but just get told they have "no self control"....i.e. "french women dont get fat".

I am getting refreshed on alot of stuff. On another thread I watched a large portion of the movie "Mershwista" posted about genetically modified food - under "Pierre's" "rice" thread. OMG! I have known for years that poor nations all over the world are refusing our food items - they know stuff that we don't! For example - what hit me hard today was realizing that part of the technique used to do the genetic modification involves putting an "antibiotic marker gene" in there which I am taking to mean that not only will the plant be resistant to that antibiotic - so will the person who ingests it. I think that there are occasions when these medicines can save a life and I would like to retain that option thank you!

6 months after Chernobyl I had the worst allergies of my life. I had to call a nurse practitioner in Chicago to get assigned to a doctor here in Phoenix on the health plan that I had. She said that the amount of allergy calls she was getting nationwide was like nothing she had ever seen. When I asked her if she thought it might be related to Chernobyl as the winds had now had a chance to disperse it worldwide she had an OMG! moment.

After the first Gulf War suddenly we had these new diseases striking massive numbers of people - like fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. I was recently reviewing Gulf War Syndrome and an expert was asked what conditions are caused by the toxins the veterans were exposed to - the first word out of the experts mouth (the guy who was hired to train our soldiers on how to deal with the toxic materials and then his training programs were shelved and not used) his first word was "fibromyalgia." Since I suffer with this I cannot help but wonder if there is a connection to the world wide spread of DU.

I am hoping to heal my fibromyalgia with raw. I want to hope that there is a chance of world healing with raw.

OK sorry for rambling. . . what I am trying to say is that there is so much that you don't know about her and this may be a result of a pollutant that we have no way of telling from our position at this point in time.

How much genetically modified food are we already eating? Is that tasteless corn that even my dogs and chickens won't eat some GE food they tried out on us?

Since I have not been organic - how much pesticides have I ingested that could do to me what your young friend has?

Perhaps the way the SAD diet now makes me blow up and bloat up and it never used to - is that an indicator that there is something wrong with the food that there did not used to be? I see this with others as well - maybe it is the food and something in it?

I understand; but I also understand that MOST of our problems will link us back to what we put into our bodies...

I am working on 100%...for more than a few days in a row!!! Good grief, the cravings kick my hiney...but I keep compiling more and more information that shows me clearly how crummy cooked food is and I am getting to the point where each time I find new information it is more shocking than the bit of information prior to that and it is definitely leaving a positive mark on me with regards to my personal resolve to "kick the habit" of cooked food.

I have been slowly cleaning my diet and now I am in the first few days of my 100%. I also agree that the cravings have been kicking my butt too. :p
