Alissa's 5-day course was sooooo amazing. There really is no way to put into words what it was like, and how much you will gain from it. Alissa's raw radiance is so overwhelming, she is such a joy, and so amazingly down-to-earth. There will be no question left unanswered about the raw food lifestyle. Elaine the facilitator is really amazing too!! She has this awesome intuition and will help you realize what your visions are and you will learn what you need to do to realize those dreams in your life. You will leave the course realizing how much value you have and how great a person you really are.

How cool is that???

I've heard so many great things about it. I might be able to make the course that's coming up in March.:D.

This is the information I got from Elaine:

1. Three Levels of Certification

There are three levels of certification offered by Alissa Cohen: Level 1 - Chef,
Level 2 - Instructor, and Level 3 - Teacher. A full description of each class may be found at:

www.alissacohen.com

Many people take the Level 1 - Chef class and/or the Level 2 - Instructor class from one of our currently certified teachers. To find a teacher in your area, click this link:

http://rawteacher.com/teachers.php

Only Alissa currently certifies Level 3 - Teachers. Because the need for Certified Teachers is so great, Alissa is offering a special class for people who want to accelerate their learning. You may take all three classes in one extended weekend directly from Alissa. This class is called the 5-day Accelerated Training class. At the end of this program, you will be certified in all three levels of certification: Chef, Instructor, and Teacher.

2. Dates, Times, and Logistics for 5- Day Accelerated Training from Alissa

The times currently scheduled to take all three certifications at once
from Alissa are:

Thursday, January 25 - Monday, January 29, 2007

Thursday, March 22 - Monday, March 26, 2007

You may also choose to take Level I and Level II from one of Alissa?s certified teachers, and then take Alissa's Level III class on Friday - Sunday, March 2, 3, and 4, 2007. The cost for Level III only is $1900. Call for more information and to register. Here is a link to more information about the Level III only class:

http://www.rawteacher.com/teachercert.html

Alissa teaches these classes at the Alissa Cohen Living on Live Food Center in Kittery, Maine just outside of Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

We are currently accepting registrations for all of these trainings. And, I
encourage you to sign-up soon. We will send you more information about the classes and accommodations after you register.

The classes begin at 2:00 pm on Thursday and end at 7:00 pm on Monday. Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday will begin early (usually at 8:00 or 9:00 am) and run late (usually 8:00 pm).

There will be breaks throughout the day and the best raw food in the world will be provided. Day 1 is the Raw Chef Certification. Day 2 and 3 is the Instructor Certification class. Day 4 and 5 is the Teacher Certification class. You must attend all five days of this program to be certified by Alissa.

The cost of tuition includes everything except travel and accommodations. Most people have decided to register and secure travel plans now. We will help everyone with places to stay once you are registered. Many of our students share rooms to save costs. The students who take Alissa's classes are very supportive of each other. In addition to gaining valuable knowledge and experience, you will develop an amazing support group.

After you register, I will help you coordinate your logistics. We can also coordinate rides to and from the airport. Some students have decided to fly into Boston. Others are flying into Manchester, New Hampshire. Choose the airport that works best for you.

Because this is a special offer of three certifications at once, no pre-requisites or additional materials are needed. Both newcomers and experienced participants feel comfortable in Alissa's classes. The program is designed to help you reach your personal and professional goals.

3. Cost and Registration

The tuition is $2275. This will give you certifications in Level I, II, and III. You may reserve your space today with a credit card. Simply call me at 561-210-5126. Once you determine that this is the program for you, all it takes is a credit card to register.

4. Other fun

The networking with the other participants is great fun. We will help you truly teach from your heart. Imagine five days of personalized attention from Alissa. The learning is tremendous. Many of the teachers who have taken Alissa's Certifications have described the class as life-changing.

I know, and that's why I'm trying like a madwoman to figure this out! Trust me, if I could put it on a credit card I would. But with the expenses of helping ds and the recent move we had....Let's just say it's easier said. But I'm in contact with Elaine about a question, so I'm putting all my good vibes out there and hoping it all falls into place. I KNOW I'm MEANT to be there in March! I just know it in my bones. I can't explain it any better than that.

I couldn't say it any better! I made so many great friends, learned so much and ate so well! And meeting and spending a little time with Alissa was just great. She is such a warm and authentic person.

I took the class recently (November/December 2006) and I absolutely loved the class. Alissa and Elaine are the coolest! I love them both!! AND, I met some awsome people . . . Debra (Rawfoodiemom) and I were roommates and I love her too! (Hi Deb!) :D The knowledge and friendships you gain are PRICELESS! The cost of the course is minimal compared to everything else. It's all about the food, but it's not all about the food. :D

I would HIGHLY recommend this class to anyone even the slightest bit interested. You won't regret it. And another really cool thing about this class is you discover YOU! An unexpected treat for sure. :D

This class IS a life changeing experience!

Hi Fruit Salad!

I live in Lucerne Valley - 20 minutes the other side of Apple Valley and 20 minutes from Big Bear Lake.

I am close enough to Palmdale/Lancaster to include that area in my "teaching area". I don't remember seeing any Living on Live Food Instructors in Palmdale. Is that where you are?

I have just joined 2 raw food groups, one in Victorville, and one in Yucaipa (down the hill) if you are interested in joining, let me know.

I have been trying to find a way to take the course. I got in contact with a couple of people to do the Level one, two. But I have had no luck. And I would love to do the Five day but It would cost me at least three thousand to cover all costes. Clamdigger Nova Scotia :(

I have been racking my brains on finding another way to get money for the course. I live in NY, which is only 4 hours away from Kittery, ME. On top of the price of the 5-day course: transportation costs.

I'll figure out a way...if I have to pull out a loan (if I'm able to), then so be it. The benefit of being certified by Alissa Cohen FAR outweighs the costs:D.

Poor, broke, with a lot of loans already out to pay for school, college student is REALLY bummed over here. I seriously wish that I could afford something like this. I'd be good at promoting myself too and making up the costs. The initial investment just ain't gonna cut it though. =[ And since this will most likely be the last one, I really feel even worse. *sniff*

I guess I'll just have to teach myself (since I can't even afford the uncookbook).

Well, I'm stoked for those going though! You'll have a blast. :D

For those that have stated they are unable to afford the 5-day accelerated class, you could find the teacher closest to you, and take the level 1 and 2, and that enables you to be able to teach the Level 1 Chef class, and you can start your career by teaching Level 1. :)

I did Alissa's 5 day course this november in the UK.
When booking I was dead excited. As the time got closer my excitement waned ( I was already teaching Raw classes, did I REALLY need this???)
Day 1 of the course, I was blown away.
Day 5 of the course I had learnt more about teaching, myself and other people than I did doing a full time nutrition course a few years back!
It is the most life changing thing (apart from marriage and kids!) that I have ever done. I was Miss 'sceptical', now I think every living person, whether they want to teach or not should be entitled to a 5 day session with Alissa and Elaine and their team.
You will meet the most amazing people and have a ball! I would have paid double the money! It's easily worth treble/ quadrouple the money! You won't regret it, you'll love it, as did all my classmates (most of us are still in touch).
You also get constantly fed and watered! Hows that for value??? I now teach Alissa's level 1 and 2 in the UK and love it.
Go for it!
X Anna

Luna99~ Scheme Away! As Anna just said, it is TRULY a WOW experience! I went to the 5 day class (just after Anna's) in November/December and it WAS worth every cent and more! I got chills reading Anna's reply, as I KNOW how truly earth moving it is.

Anyone wishing to go, JUST FIND A WAY AND DO IT! YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!!! :D

And, Debra (who was with me in my class ~ HI DEB!) has an excellant point. If you really cannot afford the entire amount right now, find a teacher in your area and start by taking the first 2 levels in your own area - you will be learning from Alissa Cohen trained teachers. Then take Level 3 with Alissa. I'm SURE that the Level 3 class alone with Alissa and Elaine will have a huge impact with you as it did me and many others!

Sunshine - my class was great!! It was only three hours but when I read the old email she told me it was because it was such a small class that she could give us all the info of a 6 hour class in 3 hours... we should get our certificates in the mail and did you know that supposedly they come directly from alissa herself?

there was only two of us there taking the class! lol.. I was a little surprised, I thought it'd be a bit bigger.

She made seven different meals.. most of which I have tried myself, but it was nice having someone else "cook" for me and also seeing how she had variations in the recipe and how that made a difference in the taste.

I got to ask tons of questions.. it was really laid back and personal.. the people were very friendly! The woman who was teaching the class was great and funny and warm and her husband was there helping her with the washing of appliances and passing out food and taking up plates when we were done eating. I got REALLY full! haha.

we had pasta with marinara sauce, fettichini alfredo, stuffed portobello mushrooms, nori rolls, mock salmon rolled in collard greens, broccoli soup, and date nut torte for dessert!

The woman who taught my class is going to look into doing a level two class in the spring for me and anyone else interested (I'm doing it for sure!) and talked to me a bit about how the classes work and teaching and stuff.

I had such a good time and left so excited and even more enthused about the raw lifestyle. I bet taking one with alissa would be SO MUCH FUN!! I hope one day I can actually take a class with her as my teacher.

I hope your class was great as well.... yay for raw food classes! :D

EDIT: My teacher emailed me tonight to tell me what a pleasure it was to meet me and how she knew I'd be great at teaching raw because of my enthusiasm and personality! She even offered to let me stay with her to save hotel money when I come for the level two class! What a sweetie! raw people rock!

Hey Marci-

My class was awesome too! It ended up just being the instructor, me, and my 11 yr. old eldest ds. It still ended up taking about 6 hours, but that's cause she and I did a lot of talking plus breaks.

We had Mock Salmon Pate (LOVED THAT!), Stuffed Portabello Mushroom Caps, Collard Roll-Ups, Zippy Tomato Soup, Alissa's Yummiest New Creamy Dressing, Fettuccine Alfredo, Pesto Stuffed Mushrooms (I told her she didn't have to actually stuff the mushrooms cause ds didn't like them and I was getting really full and wanted to be able to try the next two recipes), Thick Pesto Pasta, and Date Nut Torte. It was all SO good!

We had such a great time and had some interesting conversations about raw, autism (my middle son has autism), just all kinds of neat stuff. It was very relaxed and laid back and she answered all of mine and ds's questions which I thought was great! I had emailed her to thank her again and ask a question and she said I actually inspired her too! That was kind of wild! I am so psyched now, even more so than before to go to Alissa's 5-day course in March!

I'm so glad to hear that you had a great time at your class. Thanks to my instructor, I found out that Atlanta DOES have a Trader Joe's now! They didn't when I moved to GA in September! After that we went to Whole Foods and then to Your DeKalb Farmer's Market. That farmer's market is HUGE (140,000 sq. ft.)! I felt like I'd died and gone to heaven! I can't wait to move to Atlanta in April! I already told dh that that was where I'd be doing the majority of our grocery shopping!

Oh yeah! She got some really funny pictures of me trying to open a durian (which come to find out was still partially frozen)! I asked if she could send me copies of the pictures so I could take them with me in March when I go to Alissa's course to show her. It was SO hysterical! None of us could stop laughing!

Anyway, it's good to hear that you had a great time too! I think it's probably impossible to NOT have a great time when there's raw involved! That's the conclusion that I've come to.

Sunshine :D

sunshine, that's great! I'd love to see those pictures too so if you get them could you email them to me? I'm so glad you had a small intimate class as well.. it really makes it nice when it's like that doesn't it?

How were the Zippy Tomato Soup and pesto pasta?

I love Atlanta btw.. I used to go ever May for a music festival they have there.. the city is so cool.. and that market sounds amazing! I know you'll love Atlanta.

I'm so glad you had a wonderful time and you'll have to tell me all about the five day alissa class! :D

shine72
01-22-2007, 09:28 AM
Marci - The peso pasta was awesome! I just made some last night for our dinner here too! The Zippy tomato soup was, too much basil. Not because of Alissa's recipe, it was REALLY big basil, and it needed to be adjusted for that fact is all.

I'll post the picture when I get it. I know I look retarded in it, as the smell had just went straight up my nose!

It was really nice having a small class. Everyone just got to be themselves, so that was so nice.

Have a good one!

I just wanted to jump and say something for those of you that cannot afford to go to Alissa for the five day training.

If you can take a Level 1 and 2 from a teacher locally you can make good money teaching Level 1 for a while. Save to go to Alissa for level 3.

I have found that there are many more people that want to take Level 1 classes rather than level 2. So work it as much as you can and then go to Alissa.
