Trying so hard not to give in. Trying to make my first week RAW (Monday will be a week). How do you guys deal with the cravings? I was so bad a large plate of Ziti with cheese and pasta sauce. I almost gave in about 90 minutes ago but opted for a salad.
Any good food ideas for cravings or suggestions?
Hanging in there.

Funny you said cheese, it has known addictive qualities. It'll take approx 21 days to get over most cheese cravings and prob a year for most to not even want it.
Most cravings for me go away when I eat a banana. :D

When I started I found that if i ate some almonds with raisins and date pieces...as much as I wanted, that worked for me. I didn't have cravings for specific foods, rather I wanted just the carbohydrate feeling in my belly...and the nuts and fruit did the trick for me.

Tito235 - I try to eat some nuts, pecans for me, because the fat in them help kill cravings. Also, 2 glasses of water can trick your stomach into a full feeling ...

If I want cheese, I eat buttery fruits like canatlope and banana's. So silky and creamy.

I get through the cravings in the beginning by stuffing my face with anything raw that looks good!

This might sound stupid, but I get get over all of my cravings by power-drinking water. Just drink about 30-50 ounces of water, and I guarantee that you will not want to eat any cheese.
Do this everytime you get a craving, it will nip it in the bud.
I hope this helps.

Thank you for all the advice. It definitely helped. I had water, a fist full of almonds, and a banana.

When I crave cheese I make onion dip or a "cheese' spread, like the cheese part of Alissa's pizza, and use it as a veggie dip. That is what I love about raw, for every dead food I think I crave there is a raw equivelent that makes me hum after I eat it!!
