Hello all, my husband and I moved to the Dominican Republic last year after being disabled for 3 years in the USA. We both managed some H&R Block offices together and I found out I had hep c and my body just started going downhill from there. It took awhile to figure out what to do, as all the doctors I saw couldn't help me.
So we sold everything, packed up the pets and moved down here. The cost of living is cheap and so are maids. My husband was doing everything: cooking, cleaning, shopping, laundry, and my job at the office, too. I couldn't let him do it anymore.
I've abandoned my old "yummy" food a long time ago. Now I'm mostly vegetarian with some fish and fowl and I do eat some raw foods and juice green stuff. I want to do more raw, eventually everything, but I need to see what others are doing and how they handle it, etc. I have liver and digestive problems so I'm going slow. I've gone from bedridden to walking around from diet changes, tons of supplements, a chiropractor and an acupressurist in the last few months. I'm searching for the healthiest things I can do for my body, so now I want off the supplements and on with raw food.

Have you tried using the SEARCH at the top of this page, or posting a Thread in the Discussion department? I know RAW can do just about Everything but maybe someone else has had your same illness with with success.
I am so Happy you are already seeing changes with the changes you have already made in your diet.
Why not order Alissa's Book Living on Live Food, it will get you started with recipes and the introduction to RAW Foods.
I wish you everything you need to Stay RAW....Welcome to MY World..........

thanks, Seasiren, it sure looks like you're giving it the 'ole college try, I wish you luck!
spicyfull, thanks for the tip, I guess there must be some other cfsers here. I've got some raw food books because I started dwelling on this a long time ago, but just couldn't do it, it kept making me worse, I think I'm ready now, though. I'll check out Alissa's book, you can never have too many books!
michigan roman, I take milk thistle now but it's never occurred to me to look for it fresh. I'll see if it's around here, if it is, all I need to do is get a piece and stick it in my yard. Here in the DR, if you stick a fresh "stick" in the ground, it will grow! Everything grows fast, my yard is overgrown in no time at all.
thank you all

The castor oil packs ease the pain - anywhere. It is supposed to draw out toxins as well.
The liver cleanses - I did not dare do that.
Apple juice is supposed to help cleanse it.
Also drink fresh lemon juice with juiced garlic clove and olive oil. This is supposed to cleanse the liver. You start 1st morning with juice of one lemon, 1 clove garlic and 1 TBLSP organic virgin olive oil. You can increase the amount of garlic and olive oil every day until you reach your max tolerance. This will make your breath bad and possibly activate heartburn but it does help.

Castor oil packs I use for cramps when I can't tolerate a simple NSAID and the liver cleanse is too scary for me to attempt. Just 2 months ago I was completely bedridden with my husband having to feed me with a spoon.
Anyone know about when these dang food allergies are going to let up? I just tried some sunflower seed cookies out of the dehydrator for the second time yesterday and, like before, I'm sneezing my head off today. I'm assuming leaky gut still is letting certain food into my bloodstream or I'm not digesting even with digestive enzymes pills, even though I only eat "safe" foods now. Citrus is another thing I can't tolerate. Will these "intolerances" all clear up when I'm totally raw or what? Here's what I eat, it's a much smaller list than "here's what I don't eat":
brown rice and chickpeas
fish
veggies, all kinds, boiled and juiced
apples, grapes
tons of basic nutrition supplements, gradually giving them all up now that I got the "jump start" that I needed from them
These are the only foods that don't give me problems!!!
any input is deeply appreciated!

Hi tropicalgeek,
You might want to e-mail Alissa directly and speak with her about the Hep C. I believe her husband is fighting this condition, or has healed it...I'm not sure of all of the details. But I do remember reading on her sight that he was healing Hep C with raw foods.
All the best to you.
