Hi all. I've decided to reach out and try to find some folks in my community who are eating the same way. Figure it's a great way to talk to some cool peoppe, sample some new foods, and come home with 29 new recipes!

But..... I'm not especially well versed in this way of eating, and have never met anyone else in person who is eating this way. So I'm now really nervous abotu what to bring! Should I not bring anything dehydrated? Is it better to bring savory rather than desert? Does anyone have a suggesiton for a dish that isn't too too expensive nor too difficult and will feed 8 people?

And a thanks to Adrienne, who posted about the Waltham potluck in another thread... Wouldn't have known about it otherwise!

Thanks all for any suggestions!

How about pesto stuffed mushroom caps? mushrooms are cheap.

Do you have Alissa's book? she has a nice recipe in there...im planning on making them as the appetizer for an upcoming dinner party.

Or you could bring raw crackers and veggies and a nice dip....

or you could bring a fruit crisp...apple would be easy on your budget

hmm...im trying to think of anything else that would be good

I'll see you there jessireebob!
there are always lots of salad type stuff and pates
the stuffed mushrooms are a great idea or a yummy desert that you like to make
I always bring desert b/c that is my favorite part of raw! But there is always room for more desserts!
Do not fret about what to bring. Pick your favorite dish and bring that. If something comes up and you don't have time to make anything, stop at the grocery store on the way and grab some fruit, that way everyone can grab a banana to take home (or something like that). It is a very low key and friendly environment.
Looking forward to meeting you!
I'll be the one with a 2 year old (I may have to bring her b/c Dad will be out of town), she loves going to the "food party" and we only stay an hour or so.
It will be very fun. :)

Thanks FairyGirl and Adrienne. I think the stuffed shrooms are a fabulous idea. I've been wanting to give them a try anywhere, and it's not too pricey. Yay!
