Hello Fellow Raw Fooders....

I just love making Raw Gourmet & easy Raw as well...but I cannot get my food presentation right.

It seems many of my dishes look like...well..kinda *sloppy*.

I love to photograph my dishes..but would love any input on garnishing, decorating & presention.

I am considering buying a pastry bag for desserts...I have tart pans coming in & I am in the process of looking for some tall chef tins to make the really cool decadant layered deserts...ala Fairygirl's latest photo.

Any input is appreciated.

Thanks.. :)

hi,
you know when i look at the food photo thread i also enjoy looking at the dishes because they are all presented really nice and so look so delicious. i have also seen your food there and that looks really delicious and beautiful too. i think food always looks better when someone else has made it :) (raw food i mean ;) )

maybe looking at some of the pics will give you new ideas. i also have been thinking of buying some new gadgets like little pans etc... its funny, i never was that bothered before about presentation but since raw i am trying :)

best wishes
sal

Having all the colour of the rainbow makes things look pretty. If you don't like the look of your dish try adding other colours. Also arranging the colour into contrasts, or shades, or patterns. Sometimes just adding one dot of colour such as a raspberry can dramatically change the way a dish looks.

Alfalfa, other sprouts, cress, parsley and other herbs are great for decoration if it's savoury. Berries, grated lemon or orange peel, cherries, sliced starfruit, grape halves, if it's sweet.

Burgers look great presented on a portabello cap - the way the Raw Family do it. Portabello, spinach leaves, burger, slice tomato, red onion ring.
