Hello everyone...

I moved here in early Fall for school..and am hoping to find other people interested in Raw food here. I know there is a raw community in NYC..but that is almost 4 hours away.... hmmm..I may get desperate enough to go...lol....

If you are up here...feel free to say "Hi." :)

Blessing....

Woo-Hoo!!! Another upstater!

Welcome! I live in the Albany area. I just moved back to NY after being in Chicago for three years. Chicagoland has a large raw population compared to upstate NY. It's so great to have you on the forums.

Hi everyone...

I moved here from Chicago in late August.... and even though I did not go to many of the potlucks because I was busy with school..it was nice to know I could..and also it was lovely to have Karen's to go to..YUMMM!!!!

I am in Binghamton..or right near it rather..in Johnson City. I am in the history dept. at SUNY Binghamton. I know where Albany is..but not where Keuka Park or Watertown are. I will have to mapquest them... :-) Maybe we can have a potluck...

Yes..the weather is gorgeous ...I was out driving a lot in it for my job... It is supposed to cool off in the next couple of days...maybe even snow..lol..imagine that... ....

That's so freaky that you moved from Chicago too. I went to Karyn's before I moved and it was great. Unfortunately it looks like all of us upstaters are really spread out.

Hi Elizabeth, I'm about 30 minutes north of Binghamton. I'm not raw yet; been a vegetarian most of my life and incorporate lots of raw. I love this site, I'm brand new here. I'm learning so much.

Thirty minutes...that is not far at all.. :) .. my nearest aspiring raw neighbor..

Maybe we could start potlucks... do you know any other people who are interested in it? I might make up some flyers with my email to put up in some healthfood stores to gauge interest levels in the area...

If you want..feel free to email me off list with your specific location...maybe we could get together sometime...

have a great evening....

Hey, Welcome! I am in Goshen NY off the quickway about 80 miles N of Binghampton!

Student for life there is a great vegan plac ethat just opened up in Windham, he has a lot of raw food selections as well! One of the owners was employed at Pure Food and Wine in the city and learned from the best! The name of the place is Refresh, I think it is off NY state thruway exit 21 they are having an open house and free tasting this weekend!

Thank you so much mbf! This is about an hour away from me. I'll go and let all the upstaters know how it is.

Oh yeah, would you happen to know any contact info for the restaurant? I tried looking for a website but no luck.

Thanks a lot Mara. Do you think they will have a good amount of raw food? I didn't know if it was predominantly cooked vegan or not.
