Hey all - I have a big jar of hemp protein in my fridge and since I'm simplifying my diet and reducing my fat intake, I'd like to use it up.
Any ideas out there. I normally don't ask for recipes so this is an unusual request!
Don't really want to put it in a smoothie, because I like my fruit smoothies.
Also some fat is okay, I just don't want to use a lot of fat or oil.
Hope that isn't too specific, just a couple of preferences.

I've never used hemp protein but I make milkshakes with hemp seeds....strawberries or blackberries, bananas and water. You said no fruit smoothies so I suppose that's no good? I don't think of it as a fruit smoothie because I use far less fruit than in my smoothies, and it doesn't really taste of fruit.
Or...you could use it instead of the nuts/seeds in hoummus, pesto, cakes, tahini, icecream etc
The recipes on Shazzie's website are all fruit smoothies. http://www.detoxyourworld.com/acatalog/hemp_protein.html
Pams Hemp Protein Dessert
Use any amount and any combination of the following:
Dates
Nuts (Brazils, walnuts, almonds, or other)
Seeds (pumpkin, sesame, sunflower, hemp seed, or other
Hemp protein powder (approximately 2 cups of protein poweder to 6 cups of dates before they are soaked and before the nuts and seeds are added)
Take whole or chopped raw dates, coarsely chopped nuts and seeds and mix together in a large bowl that has a cover.
Barely cover with filtered room temperature water.
Cover and let stand overnight unrefrigerated.
In the morning, use a potato masher to mash together. This mixture will be quite moist but should not be soupy.
Add enough protein powder to make a stiff batter.
Place into a container with a cover and refrigerate.
Freeze any extra. Use spoonfuls as a dessert or role into balls and dip into ground nuts for a more appealing dessert or appetizer.
Partially freezing a layer of this mixture and then cutting into squares also makes a delicious frozen dessert.

Thanks Bobbie! I did take a gander at her site, and noticed they were all smoothies. I'm not totally against something like a chocolate shake. I do things like banana chocolate coconut shakes and the like.
Anyway I got a little impatient and had to make something up in my kitchen. I started to write it all down but I kept adding "a little of this and a little of that" until I eventually got something going. So this is my vague recollection!
Hemp Cacao Cookies
Dry ingredients
2 cups oat groats, ground to a flour
1/2 cup hemp protein
1 cup cacao powder
1/4 cup maca powder
Wet ingredients
Brazil nut milk (about 1 cup water, 1/4 cup brazils, honey and vanilla)
1 cup dates
1 cup prunes
1 cup dried pineapple rings
1/2 cup liquid sweetener
About 1 tbsp macadamia nut oil, for flavor
2 apples
Additional water for processing
Mixed the wet into the dry ingredients and then dropped them by heaping tablespoon into a 50/50 mixture of:
Oat groats, ground to flour
Almond meal
Coated it with that and pressed into a flat cookie - they are dehydrating now - will come back with a picture.
