I have heard people mention that they sometimes lightly steam vegetables for an evening meal when they are about 80% raw.

How long do they steam for? 2 mins? 5 mins?

thanks

As Vegans we would steam our veggies no more than 2 minutes we enjoyed the crunchiness. However, now that we are raw we place veggies in A bowl into dehydrator for 20-30 minutes.

Hope this helps :D

P.S. We enjoy our corn on the cob raw, DELICIOUS :D

Are dehydrator steamed veggies crunchy & warm?

Well, steaming is a method of cooking, which is something we neither do nor discuss here at RFT.

Yes you can warm and slightly soften your veggies in the dehydrator. Just give it a try!

Instead of steaming my veggies, I drizzle them with olive oil, lemon juice, sea salt and a touch of honey. Then I massage the c*** out of them, and let them wilt in a covered bowl at room temperature overnight. The have the texture of steamed veggies, but all the goodness of raw. This works especially well with collard greens, kale and broccoli.

I do this too with kale and collards (minus the honey) but mine do not last until the next day ....I normally keep eating them as I pass by the bowl.

I like to use the juice of an organge or mandarin too sometimes....ummmmm

Sounds like a good plan for dinner tonight:)
