Hi Sanjay,

Two suggestions: How about warming your raw food to 115 degrees (F) instead of eating it straight cold from the refridgerator? For salads and fruits, during the winter I take mine out of the fridge beforehand and let them warm up to room temp before eating. That way they are not so cold to the body.

Also, if you must have that cooked meal every day, it would probably be less constipating if you ate it in the middle of the day rather than at night. It would digest better.

What do you put in the salad? In summer I eat a lot of lettuce; in winter I eat very little but a lot of gai lan (in the cabbage species).

Perhaps drinking more water would help.

A couple of years back I was constipated for a spell and I did the colonix program for about a month and that got me back on track.

I'm trying to find ways to be creative in the winter, because last winter is when I let go of my desire to be raw for similar reasons.

I'm trying to focus on the positives, and what my choices are.
There are some things that can give the illusion of warmth, like ginger or jalapeno peppers, which I've started adding to some things.

I've also found that in the winter, I enjoy things like sprouts, as they are so new and alive. I've got mung beans soaking right now for that purpose.

I'm trying to give myself food that gives me the light, connected feeling that I experience in the summer when I eat fresh, local fruit.

The suggestions of warming up some things with the dehydrator, too, was a good one, or if you don't have one, set the oven to the lowest setting - mine is 170 deg, and with the door open, let the food sit there for a few minutes. (it never actually reaches that temperature, so it won't cook your food if you set it there for a couple minutes.)

I love the porridge recipe in the forum. It helps you get through the winter days without cheating because its raw and it warms you up :D
