I have a question about the recipe for chili in Alissa's book. It calls for 1/2 cup chili powder... 1/2 cup? Is that a misprint?

LOL...nope, it's not! Just make sure it's chili powder and not cayenne! But the recipe makes a LOT of chili. What you can do, though, is to make it and add less (like may 1/4 c.), mix it all up and taste it and see if it can take the other 1/4 c. based on your tastebuds.
But a LOT of people think that's way too much, but find that it really is a perfect amount.
I've never made Alissa's chili (but was actually looking at it last night). The recipe looks like it makes A LOT OF CHILI... that being said, it probably is right. I of course would put it in last and keep tasting it as you add a bit. I don't like anything hot.
eta: Rawkinlocs beat me to the post LOL...

I haven't tried it... but do remember what they sell as Chili Powder in North America isn't hot.. it's more of a flavouring and people use heaps of it in chili recipes. Someone here last year thought it was a hot chili powder and got a scary surprise when she tried her chili!!!

And make sure you make the onion dip to go with it...OMG, you'll not know what hit you if you have the two together! If you don't have or can't get macadamias for the dip, use cashews as it works out beautifully as well.
