I want to purchase a "blender" but don't know which one. I have owned and used a vitamix and love it, have given them as gifts. But I have read and heard a lot about this one I believe it is K-tec, it has a computer dial instead of buttons. Anyway anyone out there used both? Which do you like best?? Anyone used the K-tec? Do you like it or wish you had gotten vitamix instead. My complaint about my vitamix is it overheats and I have to let it cool down before it will go back to work. I called the factory but they weren't really concerned about my problem. Just said to let it cool down. I know the old models didn't over heat that way. Oh well my sisters & brothers in raw help me out here thanks

Thanks for the link, girlsmiley!
I noticed that the author of the comparison seems to advocate a living foods lifestyle.
He also has a booklet for sale, Superfood Smoothies, available in e-book or paper form.
Has anyone ordered this from him? If so, what did you think of it?
Thank you... Happy New Year!
With Love.

I just did out of curiousity. Wondering when I'll receive it. My ebooks go out immediately when ordered. Don't know where this one is or why it's not come to me yet. Maybe does them by hand when he gets the order? I'll let ya know.

I did the research, decided to go with the Blendtec and love it. No complaints.

O.k. got the book.

Whether it's "good" or not depends on how one is with buying and using a lot of powders. The superfood smoothie uses Private Reserve superfood AND another superfood powder (your choice of 6) AND 1 T. of mineral liquid concentrate (your choice of two) AND 1 T. of "Naturall" protein powder (your choice of 2 listed) AND 1 Tb. cranberry powder AND a choice (out of 3) of sweetners including stevia extact, agave or Sweet Fruit drops.

The summer break smoothie is better as is the Chocolate Smoothie is one is into cacao nibs. Berry Blast is fine. Gives options of adding vit. C powder and/or superfood powders.

The Tropical Tango Smoothie contains boiled Taro or boiled sweet potato.

Mint Ice Cream Smoothie contain more protein powder, cacao nibs, and options of guar gum powder.

Orange coconut Grove smoothie contains protein powder and guar gum option.

I've not taken the time to read the "bonus" material yet, here's my suggestion ~ unless you've got some extra funds to spend, can't see any reason to purchase this as yet.

Seems like most people LOVE their Vitamixes, but for several reasons I ended up with the K Tec. I think each one has their pros and cons, but I am overall very happy with my K Tec.

I have the newer K-tec total blender. At the time it was supposedly the "top of the line" which has now been replaced by the 5000 vitamix. I have found the K-tec customer service VERY helpful. I had an issue with the contain and they sent me a new one... no questions, totally free. I have to say though, it is loud. VERY loud. I live in an apartment and I always fear my neighbors are cursing me. I don't personally mind the noise... Now, I have nothing to compare it to as I never tried the vitamix. There are many things you can't do with the blender though, such as nut butters and such. You have to add a significant amount of water, not sure if it's the same with the vitamix... I usually just use my food processor, it's better for the job. The buttons don't really annoy me and I've never had it over-heat. I'm quite happy with it so far. I think I've had it for 6 or so months.

This is confusing. The K-Tec replaced by the V-M? In your kitchen or...am I reading incorrectly?

Thank you ever so much for your take on "Superfood Smoothies".
From what you've observed, it seems a bit complicated (and costly) to make the smoothies.
I think I'll stick with the "tried and true" green smoothies that I already enjoy.
May you have a wonderful day!
With Love.

You're quite welcome.

To me, it's so much simpler and better to eat the live, unprocessed (except by me) foods. Methinks too much of the powdered, concentrated stuff will, after awhile, overwhelm the body.

Definitely costly. I can't imagine buying all those powders every month although I use to do that. Now, so much variety and such a variation of flavors.

Be well and may you have a wonder-filled, prosperous, new year.

Believe both are excellent but have found my K-tech preferable for me. The reasons are: very easy to clean (nice wide base of containers and not too high when you have to scrape down sides which to me is a disadvantage of VM); never had an overheating problem (experienced this my friends VM); LOVE the pre-programmed options and being able to choose when I want (latter is like the VM that used in the past -- would not have been a new model); also found helpful service; and, amazed at the power (one of my friends that has been a long time - Wigmore certified raw food chef believes my K-Tech is better than the VM).
