Hello,

I first became aware of the RAW lifestyle by reading RAWKINLOCS website which I found by reading some of her postings on another site we both are members of. When I saw her photos I knew immediately that she had been doing something to take care of herself. To me she looked more youthful in her recent photos than she did in her earlier ones.
I've been struggling with my weight for about 10 or 11 years now. I'm 35 and I know every year it gets harder and harder to keep off the weight. I've worked out with my friends off and on and by myself over the years, but eventually the newness and excitement wears off and I'm back to my old routine.
What's motivating me to change my eating habits for good this time is my wanting to get pregnant. According to my doctor on my last visit there is nothing wrong with me and their is nothing wrong with my husband. We've been married for 3 yrs and trying to get pregnant for 2yrs. I'm hoping that our change in diet will do many things for us. For example, weight loss, more energy, less pain in my lower back, lighter flow during my menstrual, direction on where I should transition for a new career. I've been wanting to own my own business for so long, just do my own thing and leave my corporate job way behind. I have a tendency to start projects that involve just myself and not finish them so I am hoping that I will make this one that I will stay committed to.
My plan is to begin the RAW lifestyle by doing the 30 day challenge starting 1/1/07 and see where that leads me. By the sound of all the journals I've read I should be hooked by the end of this challenge.
My current weight is 163 or 164, my scale isn't a very good one. I'm 5'1 and medium frame. My goal is to loose 15lbs by the end of January. I also plan on incorporating some form of excercise into my life as well. I'll probably go back to the aerobics classes I used to take during the summer.

Well I will keep all of you posted on my progress. Thank you all for sharing on this site it really has been helpfull.
Oh forgot to mention my mom is planning on going RAW also and we are having a weight loss challenge at my office. So I'll keep you all posted on that too.

Kind Regards,
:)

Welcome to raw! Can we get together? There is a meetup, and I've been to it, but I doubt there'll be another meeting until February.

Welcome. Did you know you are super close to Shelby, home of Hallelujah Acres. May want to treat yourself to some of their great raw meals there too. They have gotten lots of great PR worldwide. www.hacres.com. They even have lectures. Got my Health Minister training there years back.
