I ordered Alissa's book/DVD set and received it on Dec. 27th. Last night, I sat down to watch the DVD and my mother wanted to watch it with me. I didn't expect her to get turned on to raw the way she did! I mean, I've been 100% for a year and she has said constantly how she couldn't do it. Perhaps it was seeing Alissa pile a portabello high with guacamole that did it...or was it the spaghetti w/marinara sauce? Anyway, she suddenly realized that there are options to eating plain old fruit and salads. She thought my diet too boring for her...but Alissa's diet has her all excited! So, Mom has now decided she will give it 30 days and see what happens. We're hoping that raw will help her feel better (arthritis, varicose veins, fatigue, etc) and lose weight.

Now, I gotta find a spiral slicer so I can make the pasta! and order sundried tomatoes (can't find them here)...and raw cashews...

Oh, I made a banana/blueberry pudding (after watching Alissa make banana/payaya pudding on the DVD) for us for breakfast (since we couldn't have a smoothie after burning out our 3rd blender of the year!)--oh, my heavens was it DELICIOUS!!!

Thanks Alissa!

Ack! That reminds me. I meant to buy sundried tomatoes when I was at the store last time. I saw a recipe I wanted to try. Ah well. Maybe next week.

OMG, I was just coming here to post something similar. I think I have converted my mom, too. She e-mails me today and says "Okay, I ate an apple, but you know I don't like them much so give me some recipes" LOL It's so great, huh? How little by little with out enthusiasm about raw we convert others.

that's so awesome! I honestly think more people will be enthusiastic about raw than we realize. I know I've casually mentioned it to a few people (without really getting into detail or showing them the dvd) and a few told me they were interested.

hooray!
