View Full Version : What foods belong the RAW diet? Can RAW foods stop arthritis?

I have been lurking through the recipes posted, trying to learn what kinds of foods can be considered part of the raw life -- and I am a little confused. I am doing my two week transition to raw and just want to make sure I understand: Are things like sea salt, Braggs liquid aminos, vinegar, etc. all okay on a 'raw' diet? I ask only to understand. And, because I have arthritis that is very sensitive to foods, I can tell the morning after I eat something that it is 'bad' for me because I hurt so much I can barely move. If I eat only raw fruits and vegetables for a week, I feel fabulous and can move about like a normal person. If, however, I try anything out of a box, bag, can or jar, I am in agony the next day. Braggs makes things taste so good - but, OUCH! the next morning. Tahini and sea salt are wonderful, too, but then OUCH! again. Has anyone else had a similar experience? Or has anyone who has been raw for some time ever had any allergic reaction to any foods or packaged 'raw' items? Or did going raw clear up any allergies or arthritis for anyone?

Some people use those foods as transition foods to help them eat raw. If they make you feel bad then definitely don't eat them.

Red Poppy I would hav to agree with Allison those things are traditionally used as transition foods but are not really raw - but if they are making you feel bad definitely dont eat them. Maybe you can find some other things that will make food taste better to you? Your taste buds gradually change the longer you keep at it! Hang in there!!
