I have just started raw and am still breastfeeding my 10 mo baby. I am wondering if anyone has advice on what the best ratio of foods are for me, to keep up enough good fats and nutrients for my baby (& for me since he's taking some of mine..).

I am also wondering what to do once I wean him off the breast. In the past I have given my boys organic raw cows milk. I would like to breastfeed him as long as possible, but don't know at what age children are OK just on water and juices. I have seen a few books available on raw babies and children, but does anyone have an absolute favourite they could recommend? I am also concerned about my children getting enough of everything they need. My boys have always been a bit fussy at eating and now we are raw they seem to be eating less (although my baby is transitioning well as he was basically raw anyway). Then there's all the rules about not giving babies nuts or honey until they are 12 mths...

Any advice or direction would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Maree
(I think I've attached a photo of my boys)

My daughter is 16 months old, when I started her on foods I used avocado, baby coconut, finely minced or grated carrot, and greens. It works to blend them up untill your desired thickness. For a formula for emergencys if any, I used home made raw almond milk with baby coconut milk and carrot juice. Later on you can make raw apple sauce, bannana mush, soaked grains blended up for cereal substitute, fruit smoothies... Its endless. I bought a wonderful book called "Baby Greens" I recomend it, it has everything you need to know about raising raw children and babys.

P.S. As far as for you, juice fresh juice and lots of green smothies, If you are detoxing its good to get lost of fats(coconut, avocado, olive oil, all good) if ever fighting infection, lots of garlic will help clear it up while breastfeeding. When I was detoxing and breast feeding my daughter got rashes under her pits, when I upped my fat intake it got more mild.

You may already know of Jinjee Talifero, mother of 4 and one-on-the-way. If not, you'll find two interviews I did with here here:

Also, I'd go to her site...www.thegardendiet.com and pick up her ebook on pregnancy. She's had two raw pregnancies, 2 cooked and is on her third raw. I believe she said she's still nursing Adagio who is over 2 years old.
