I wonder if they freeze well. I've never seen them frozen before. I suggest tossing them with some vitamin C powder (or lemon juice) so they don't oxidize. Or maybe puree them with a little of the powder or juice into a nice sauce and then freeze in ice cube trays.

You could either slice them into 1/2 inch slices and later eat them right out of the fridge - if they are very juicy they will taste delicious, a bit like icecream. Or cut them up into thin slices with a mandolin and use them up later in a smoothie or dehydrate them right now. Or you could cut them up into small cubes and use them later in a cobbler, smoothie, fruit salad - many possibilities. They should freeze well too and last a couple of months :)

cheers,

Thanks all for the great ideas ! I will do various ways. I never thought they would dehydrate well. I will try a few that way !

how bout making pear juice? u can mix it with apples and lime for a yummy combo! or strawberries. it would use a lot of the pears up quickly. or banana/pear ice cream - yummy!

or u could make chocolate dip for pear slices.

There's a recipe on greenchef for pears with cranberry sauce that looked delicious. I wanted to make it, I've got lots of cranberries need using, but I didn't have any pears :(
