I have finished the "Living on Live Foods Book" and I must say that I have more confidence and many of my questions answered. I now keep the book in my kitchen as a cookbook (hoping my wife starts reading it also).

I am also on Chapter 13 of the 12 Steps to Raw Foods and feel that I cannot and would not be able to stay Raw without this Book. I am so amazed about the information of this book that I carry it everywhere I go and plan to re-read it and re-read it.

For example: "Please believe in your own intuition and don't make the mistake of thinking that someone else knows better about your body than you do."

I will be 100% Raw on January 2nd, 2007. It will be a celebratory event in my life which I plan to celebrate every year.

“Giving up cooked food isn’t easy. Everyone must choose their own time.”

“Be firm with your friends, co-workers and all your relatives. If you are not firm they will continue to offer you cooked food. Be vulnerable and tell your family and close friends, “Listen I need your help. It’s very important for me and my health now, that I go on raw food. Without your help I cannot do it. Support me, don’t offer me any cooked food. You can eat absolutely whatever you want but don’t offer it to me please.” To ask for support is different than to ask them to go on raw food. People would love to be supportive, because we usually have love in our families and among friends.”

Both these quotes are from Victoria Boutenko’s book “12 Steps to Raw Foods.” I don’t write these to promote the book but to express the delight in the fact that both Living on Live Foods and the 12 Steps to Raw Foods are for me indispensable and without them I don’t think I would be able to be on Raw foods. I now know that it is essential, no! mandatory that to be Raw requires that I must totally educate myself and if possible my family and friends, without pressure.

I want to extend my 30-day challenge from January 2nd, 2007 from 30-days to 60-days. If any one is down with this, letÂ’s do it together and letÂ’s email each other daily or weekly about our progress. I plan to start a library of affirmations (quotes) from both of these books and the new ones that I get so we can email these to each other. LetÂ’s win together to March 2nd.

Jan 1st is my day to be 100% raw. Its going to be hard. I don't have a lot of food at home to work with.. well not raw food anyways LOL. My house is stocked to the 9's with cooked food for the rest of the family. They don't want to try raw. :p
I don't have a food dehydrator either. I hope to get one this weekend but I haven't found one with a temp setting.
I am going to be doing a year raw challenge. I fear if I only set a goal or 30-60 days, once those days are up I will fall off the wagon and eat something I shouldn't. :D
I want to be raw baby! Oh ya *shakes bootay*

Tito, join us at the "ready to rawk 2007 for a year" challenge. Everyone is planning to stay raw next year. Lots of support, and lots of people who want to do their absolute best to make it the whole year! Welcome, and just to let you know, I've read Vict. Boutenko's book also and I think her insight that cooked food is an addiction is so true! It is for me, but I've decided over the last year, though I've struggled with trying to maintain a 100% lifestyle, I'm ready to kick that addiction out the door! Welcome to the board!
