I had left over browning banana's and about 3 cups of frozen blueberries.

I thawed the berries and mixed them in the blender with about 5 bananas and a little lemon juice and lemon zest. I also added a little agave - maybe 2 T. I stuck it in an oiled pyrex oblong dish. It was probably an inch deep.

I dehydrated it at 145 degrees for two hours then turned it down to 117 for 24 hours. It is truly delish - like cobbler filling or pie filling. Doesn't taste banana-ey at all. I ate about half and am continuing to dehydrate the rest.

If I were eating fats, I'd make a nut crust, put it underneath and dehydrate the whole thing.

I'm may try the same thing with banana's, fuji's, cinnamon, nutmeg, raisins, lemon. Or banana/raspberry when they come into season. It's VERY pie like.

Have fun,

what kind of dehydrator do you have that is deep enough to put a Pyrex dish in?

I have an Excalibur. I just put one plastic tray on it, and the oblong casserole dish atop that. There's nothing magical about the pyrex dish. It was simply what I had. I'm sure you could put it in anything else - muffin tins, other pans, old socks (Ok, kidding). I didn't have anything else in the dehydrator so I wasn't limited by another shelf above it. Also, I dehydrated the half I didn't eat about 30 hours altogether. That worked very well. It takes longer because it is thicker than, say, fruit leather. But it's the deepness of the ingredients that gives it the thick, cobbler-y taste and texture. It really was delish. I can't wait to try other combos.

Much love to all,
