I am all raw and have been for 4 weeks or so.

I'm not sure why, but I assumed that most of the people on here are 100% raw. But today I saw where some are *mostly* raw.

How did you come to your decision to be mostly, partly, or all raw. And how long have you been such?

TIA!

I would say 95% raw. The exception I make is the Ezekiel sprouted bread (which is sprouted first, then baked, I believe) and cooked sweet potatoes once in a while, especially when mixed with avocado, sprouts, tomato, and red onion for a sandwich.

My 100% journey will begin in 1 week, when I begin learning how to sprout and dehydrate bread.

I'm actually looking forward to it.

I'm 100% raw for many years now. I started out by just wanting to improve my diet...loose weight...etc. The real revelation was: If raw food is the highest quality food - then why am I settling for second best!? Ha! ha!

I've been eating healthy off and on most of my adult life....I ate raw 10 years ago for two years but without too much information I reverted back to half and half...

Last year my friend talked about her way of eating which was 100% raw...I was starting to hear the message and a few months ago went to a raw party (where I met Raw Truth) and I felt like the student was ready (me) and the teacher appeared....I've been raw for almost 4 months now....I aim for 100% and only a few times have sampled an old favorite food only to be disappointed in the taste and the feelings after....

The other thing I'm working on is to not beat myself up for those few times I've tasted something cooked...I still aim for 100% because I like the way I feel and know that everyone I meet who eats raw has a special something about them...a glow...a spirit that shines through and I can have that with this wonderful tasting food.

I'm hoping that those few 'tastes' of cooked food will be a thing of the past as I start the day with 'just for today' I'm eating raw.

I am 100% raw 99% of the time and have been that way for 18 months.
I see it as an insurance policy for my future and that of my offspring.
When my son questioned me I told him that I was doing it all for him so that he would not have to be spoon-feeding me at any time in his life.

There are various definitions of "100% RAW," believe it or not :) Some people consumes things they consider to be RAW, but others don't believe those things are (RAW).

That said, I'm 100% :D

Also, I think a lot of people are striving for raw but may not be there yet, and that's what you're reading, rather than that they are "not 100%." Hopefully, with the help of this forum, they'll get there.

I have been Raw for the past 22 days. Well mostly. ;) With all of those holiday parties it has been hard. I have found myself tasting old SAD food at some of these parties, but for the most part I've been keeping Raw. :) The one thing I am not ready to give up is coffee. I have decided to hold on to that for right now. Eventually I will get away from that too.

I started on Raw to lose weight and already that is secondary. I also suffer from severe migraines and seizures. Since going Raw, only one migraine (and that wasn't that bad) and two very small controllable seizures. That said, I really don't want to go back to SAD food. :D

Good Luck in your aw journey.

I have only been raw for a week and a day. I am 100% raw. I just started it that way. The day before I started I went to a restaurant and ate all I wanted to eat. Then I started 100% raw. Just the fact that I have already lost 7 pounds without exercise in a week and the way I feel is amazing. That's why I want to keep it up. But If I do fall and eat something cooked I won't be to hard on myself and just keep on going.

I've been 100% raw since I woke up this morning! Yay, day one. For quite some time i've felt this is the most natural way for a human to eat, it just makes sense. That was before finding out people actually ate this way! I'm doing it for my health. :)

I eat raw for breakfast and lunch and usually a cooked dinner. I have been vegetarian for 9 years though.

I like coming to this place and reading up on recipies and things becasue this lifestyle is very interesting to me. The raw breakfast and lunch is even better than what I used to do so I'm slowly adding more raw into my diet.

I've been 100% raw since September 3, 2006, almost 4 months now. My husband is also 100% raw, however, his friends tease him and say he is 110% raw!

When I smell the turkey cooking (we went to a friend house for Christmas dinner where I brought the raw dinner, and she cooked the traditional dinner) I know from when I used to eat turkey (4 years ago) how it tastes. And your sense of smell is more powerful than your sense of taste - therefore, just by smelling it, you can taste it without the ill effects of actually eating the cooked food!

I made Alissa's calzone and it was ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL! A huge hit with all!

Congratulations on being 100% raw - keep it up, you won't regret it! :)

This is my second time being raw, since Dec 11th (first time prior to that I was 100% raw for 8 months or so).

Originally, I wanted to be ALL raw because I wanted to see for myself precisely how 100% works for my body. And the only way to get an accurate "readout" is to be accurately 100% raw. I'm experimenting with variants of 100% all the time (no salt, high fruit, high greens, all fruit, etc...) and going with my body's direction.

Being "mostly raw" didn't work for me - I tried it, but the magnetic pull of the addictive cooked favorites I had wouldn't leave until I'd cut them off entirely.

OH, thank you.,..I just had a marvelous lunch at auLac with my friend who is now two days raw...he ate pretty good before so the transition won't be too hard for him...he's HIV positive and looking forward to dropping his meds...his willingness and faith will help him on this path.

I do see how I overeat...my friend ate till he was full....I wanted to eat more but felt a bit self conscious so I stopped when he stopped...I see that's something that will work its self out, hopefully soon...gee, what a concept...eating till your full!!!...today was a perfect day...I had fresh pineapple for breakfast....pumpkin seeds for a snack...wheatgrass and then the curry dish, oh and we split primavera...ahhhhh, what a life...and saw Dreamgirls...absolutely great flick...

Thanks for all your help...the more I read on here...the easier it is to keep posting...knowing there's nothing I'm doing, feeling, thinking that someone else hasn't done before me.

I've been 99% raw for 2 weeks. The first week, I had to wean myself off my favorite bottled dressing. I still eat cooked tamari (can't use namo shoyu as it contains gluten and Braggs has that MSG thingy, so I don't want to go there) and drink hot decaf tea and herbal teas. Neither of those things seem to effect how well I feel, or how well I'm doing, so I'm going to continue using them.

I learned yesterday that dates and I are not going to get along .... WAY too sweet for me, and they set off a binge on raw onion bread. Until then, I was doing very well responding to my body's signals of fulness before I got overfull.

Step by step, right? Just like every other journey.
