First of all...a very happy holiday to everyone...life is great....

I just opened my gifts and my daughter-in-law, (the bestest in the whole wide world) got me an American Harvest dehydrator....I'm reading the booklet and darn if I don't see anything I have in my own recipe books....please say I can use this...I'm interested in chips, wraps, etc....is this gonna be able to work for those things???? I hope so, it was so thoughtful of her and my son to get this....

Thanking you in advance for any help in doing crackers, chips, etc...

I did a search here and here's one of many threads available which mention your dehydrator: http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19625&highlight=American+Harvest

Oh, thank you...I was think'n in the future I'd get an Excalibur but I see this will serve me...I spend a lot of money on flax or seed crackers...

I freaked out though when I looked through the recipe book that came with it...mostly SAD recipes...and the four letter word M-E-A-T...ha! ha!....

Love and happiness, Elaine

Congrats on your new dehydrator!

Yep, as long as it has a temp. control on it, you can use it...just throw THEIR book (along with that jerkey-making stuff if they put that in there) away and stick to your recipe books! LOL! :p Well...I did hold onto mine just for dehydrator care instructions...but I NEVER even look at that little booklet.

Ahhhhhhh, thanks!!!...and a special thanks to you Rawkinlocs for all the help you give us....this forum is a daily part of my life now and I look to it for all the questions I have...I study my Alisssa book, too, and talking to real people, with real issues makes this journey more enjoyable...I'm almost 4 months raw...have a few things to fine tune and I now have a couple other friends joining me ...our hope is to have a monthly group/pot luck...we're in Huntington Beach and hope to join others on this path of health.

Thank you, Elaine
