Teflex Sheets in the Oven?

My daughter who is not raw wanted to use my teflex sheets in the oven to bake cookies. I am not sure if they will take the heat. The ones I have are really thin. I got them off ebay and they don't have the Teflex logo all over them like the real things.
I don't want her to melt my dehydrator sheets. Should I let her use them?

Hmmm...I don't think they were designed for the higher temperatures of an oven with no fan in it... but not sure. If she just wants the benefit of the non-stick surface, perhaps she might get some parchment paper. But if you want to let her try it, I'd have her test it out on only ONE rather than using multiple sheets at a time just in case...better to have only one burned teflex sheet than all of them!

Hate to sound stupid but are Teflex sheets poisonous only when used in a
"regular" oven or are you saying they are poisonous and should not be used? :confused: :confused:

I'm not sure what temperature Dougleg's daughter was going to bake those cookies yet, the Teflex sheets were not made (my understanding) to be subjected to 350-450 degree heat. The thought of that scares me. But then, I wouldn't cook with Teflon (when I did cook) either. IF someone wants to do that, I'd suggest they check with the manufacturer. I'm just looking at a safety (to me) issue here.
