craving Kung Pao

Has anyone come up with a suitable substitute? You know, using the flavors of Kung Pao over some veggie some how?

I don't know how well this will turn out in a dehydrator but you can always try if you have one.

Raw Kung Pao Dish.


3 handfuls of button mushrooms (ones you can pop off the stems and stuff.)
This will replace your chicken pieces. Soak in juices of choice to mock a chicken taste. I think garlic and onion would probably do.
3 Tbls. Nama Shoyu - divided
1 1/2 Tbls. flax or almonds ground into powder for thickness.
1 Tbls. wine of choice.
1 Tbls. agave or honey
1/2 tsp. sea salt
1 tsp. sesame oil
3 1/2 Tbls. olive oil - divided
1/2 cup raw peanuts or desired nuts
4-8 dried red chili peppers - chopped
1 slice peeled, fresh ginger - chopped
1 clove garlic - sliced

Mix and put in a dehydrator for as long as needed. I don't have a temp or time for this recipe. Wing it and let us know how it goes! Yum!

Oh and some small chunks of pineapple would probably taste so delicious in this recipe too! :p Just me getting creative. :D

Dang Trinity! You're good! I am going to watch for your posts on recipes now!

My son loves Hot and Sour soup and even at the tender age of 5 he insisted that it had HEALING POWERS. I would not even begin to know how to duplicate that raw. He always takes the "toad food" and fungi "seaweed" out anyway so basically I need to duplicate the broth. He takes the shrimp and mushrooms out also.

BTW, I am going to try the Kung Pao this week. got a dehydrator for Christmas! Yee - Haw!
