I need your help...as usual...and thank you in advance...:)

Okay, I am learning to kill my cravings with sheer will power for junk fast food, but I still am very low RAW (and quite embarrassed about that to be honest). My middle daughter came down with what looked like a 24-hour deal where she threw up (all over me in public!!!...ah, motherhood...) and she ran a fever and generally felt like death warmed over. she is happily recovering. However, now my oldest daughter and myself are running fevers and have body aches and headaches, etcetera. Given the circumstances with the fact that we are no where near what we ought to be with regards to living a raw and healthy lifestyle, is there anything that can be suggested for us to get through this quickly and as raw as possible??? As for my girls, it is Christmas vacation so they have no obligations whatsoever. I, however, still have work and other obligations. HELP!!!! :(

I found a good link that had my answers. :) Warm water with agave and fast for a few days...perhaps this will help me change my eating habits for good. I have never fasted for more than several meals and it was for religious purposes rather than health related. Of course, I would still love some input from you all, perhaps your experiences with hving colds etcetera. Thanks so much for your help.

For fever nothing beats a bath with water as hot as you can stand it and some raw ginger added. You can either chop up the ginger and put it in a container for dispersing bath salts (if you have one) or cut it into small chunks and boil it. Then strain the liquid and add it to your bath. Steep in that for 20 minutes and it should take care of the fever.

My daughter and I went through a stomach thing and hubby just got over it. Lasted just a little less then 24 hours but we sure felt bad. We mainly stayed in bed, drank water and slept.

There is no vomitting with the flu. It's a stomach virus. Whatever you do, do not take any drugs (or anything natural for that matter) to stop vomitting or diarrhea. It needs to get out of your body, so don't try to stop it.

Other than that, just eat whatever you can handle eating. Stay away from sugar...even too much fruit just because the sugar usually irritates those sorts of situations, being that the stomach is not happy, etc. lol. It's far more important to drink than to eat right now.

Rest, stay hydrated, and wait it out.

Sorry you're feeling bad. I hope you feel better soon!

PS - for future reference, as there is no vomitting with the flu (the flu is respiratory, same as a cold), if you ever find that you and your husband and/or children (or whoever you ate with) all get these symptoms at the SAME time and you all ate the same thing at some point (usually 24 hours between eating and vomitting)- it's usually some form of food poisoning rather than a virus. Sounds like a virus this time since you didn't all get it at the same time.

Yeah bugs like sugar. . . so don't do it. Personally I find that salt helps heal me. Crazy but I crave that salt when I am low and often when lost alot of fluids and it does have a restorative effect.
