View Full Version : Share your favorite dessert recipes with me, please
I'm looking for something wonderful to make for Christmas. I'm hoping to get some ideas from y'all, as I have no raw cookbooks. I'm in Bulgaria and have been raw for nearly 4 weeks. If I were in the States, I'd borrow a book from the library or something.
Pardon the rambling :)
Help a girl out, will ya!?!
Bring on the sweet treats :D

What is "agave" and is there a possible substitute? I have limited resources here. They are progressing, but they aren't like the US.

You can use raw honey.
Pansy ;)
Agave is used as a sweetner. Dates (remove pit and soak to soften) work well too .

Also one of my favorites is RawPriestess' brownies. (www.rawpriestess.com)
It's basically equal parts pitted dates and walnuts, in the food processor until it gets to a brownies consistency. Oh and of course add spoonfuls of cacao or carob powders, to make it chocolaty. I sometimes add mint extract to make a mint chocolate treat. :)
Then you can just "mush" it to the bottom of a pan and cut them into squares and freeze for later. I usually just make a bit at a time and eat it all. :)

one of my fave raw desserts is very very simple but sooo good, esp if ure a chocolate lover like me.
Creamy chocolate pudding:
Blend together some:
avocadoes
dates
carob powder
little water to get it smooth
bit of agave or maple syrup
(u can also add banana to this and its good too)
Top this with fruits and nuts and ull be in heaven
All this sounds great! I made some kind of brownie concoction last week and it was a hit in my SAD (vegetarian) family's diet!

I love my raw porridge. It could be used as a pudding (If made thicker using less coconut milk/cream or even made thinner to drizzle over crepe's! I just eat it as porridge because its sooo good!!

For me, any nut (my faves at the moment are brazil nut or pecans) whizzed with enough dates to sweeten and moisten, and then liberally put raw cocoa in it. process until fudgy and yummy.
Someone posted this recipe and they are sooo delicious!!
Coconut Macaroons:
2 1/4 c. shredded coconut
2 Medjool dates
1/2 c. honey (I used a little less agave)
1 tsp vanilla
Blend ingredients in food processor. Roll into small balls, flatten to about 3/4 inch. Hint: Add more honey to mixture if, when you make a ball out of it, it doesn't easily stick together.
Dehydrate at 105 degrees for 6-8 hours (longer if you want a crunchy outer shell and chewy inside - either way is good).
