hey guys..
I've been on the boards for a few weeks now and have been dipping my toes into the raw lifestyle but starting january 1st, I'm going 100% .. and to be honest, i'm a little scared.
I feel like a kid standing at the deep end of the pool.. about to take the plunge and not sure if they can really do it.
I am excited about it and love reading everyone's success stories, but I think "what If I can't do it 100%?"
I really think it might be harder than it seems, and my fiance has already spent all this money on dehydrators and food processors.
maybe I'm putting too much pressure on it, because before the thought of doing it 100% came along I was so excited and raw foods sounded fun.
please give me some encouragement. thank you.

You can do it!! Just go for it!
I think it's scarier to think about than it actually is to do. Once you do it, it just flows.
You might be scared because you'll miss your old favorites. Just think of all the new favorites you'll have and how wonderful you are going to feel.
It is kind of like moving somewhere or getting a new job, you are nervous in anticipation but once you start and settle in, everything is just great.

Oh luna99 - you will love it and wished you had gone raw years ago. The energy, the well-being, the mental clarity you will feel will beat out all fears of this. Think about it. Were you fearful when you first started learning to cook foods? I was. I knew nothing of it.
I have been Vegetarian for 26 years, Vegan for 2 and now raw for over 20 some weeks and absolutely love it. I will NEVER, EVER go back to SAD foods. You can make this journey as complex as you want or as simple as you want. I mix it up. If I have time I'll do gourmet foods, if not, a simple green smoothie gets me by.
With raw you are deprived of nothing. No tastes that you will miss. You REALLY taste foods for the first time.
It is truly fun!
My advise? Read all you can my dear. Read until you think your brain will explode. The more you read, the more you will understand what this will do to your body and soul. Read Ann Wigmore information. Read Victoria Boutenko books. Read Alissa's. READ!!!
Expect some detoxing. It's natural. It will pass. Your body will surely thank you for it.
I noticed the very NEXT day the amazing amount of energy I had. Something I had not had for years!
My migraines are totally gone. My hypOthyroidism is now hypERthyroidism and my doc is stunned.
I FEEL WONDERFUL. You will too.
And, remember, we are a terrific support group. Tap into us.
It's a fun journey!

You can do it! Seriously trying to over analyze or rationalize is only going to scare you more. It's like when you know you need to do laundry but at the same time the more you think about doing it, the less you want to do it, until finally you just force yourself and say "let's do it right now!" and it turns out to be so easy and quick and quite painless. (The laundry thing is just an example, it also applies to exercising, cleaning, eating healthy, etc.)
So stop stressing over the idea of raw and go back and look at raw with lots of joy and excitement like you used to. That's the best way! Stressing out over food is probably worse than eating bad food in some cases, anyways. So enjoy your life, don't think about the raw thing too much.
It took me over a year of trials and errors to get to where I am now, about 9 months raw. I still slip sometimes, I think it's natural and I think you'll do great - slips or not!

Oh my gosh luna.. if I can go raw.. anyone can do it! I fudged up some times by eating cooked food or not being 100% raw. I like my coffee, tea and regular sugar and etc.. I want to cut back but I already cut back on my diet coke and THAT I didnt think could happen  I loved my pop :p
I was an over eater and if I go back to eating cooked food, I will always be an over eater. I binge and binge and..... binge
On the raw diet.. I make things simple. I have no dehydrator ( $$$ ) so I make things super fresh and not too fussy. Its only me my mini $7.00 processor and $30 blender lol

What if you can do a 100%? ;) Try not and worry so much about it, don't beat yourself up if you eat sad when you wanted 100%. Life is a journey and sometimes the detours can be valuable lessons! Go as much raw as you can, play around with recipes, find some things you really love and when you feel like eating sad, try this one: "if I could only have sad or only have theese delicious fruits and veggies or this raw pizza, what would I choose?" For me it is simple, I will not do without many of the things I eat now! Have a bright journey!

haha. that's awesome. thanks. I love that attitude.
thank you everyone. I realized I needed to take the pressure off, look at it from a fun standpoint, and realize that it's ok if I slip up here or there as long as I get right back on... and I know I'm going to have great benefits from it.
thank you! I'm excited again! January 1st, here I come!
