I just got my dehydrator last night and am so excited to use it, but I was wondering if I can turn it on and leave it running while I'm at work so things will be done when I get back?
I believe mine has a timer on it, I just don't want to pose a fire risk! thanks.
oh, and I read the manual and didn't see anything about this subject in there and I did a search here as well and didn't find any info. Maybe I just missed it though.

Is it a brand-new one? I do it all the time. Well, whenever I dehydrate foods. That's the nice thing. You don't have to be stuck in the kitchen. How about preparing and having it run overnight a couple times until you are comfortable with it?

yep. brand new and still in the box!
It's an excalibur 9 tray.. I'm going to play with it a bit this weekend... hopefully starting tonight... but I wanted to get it early so I could fool with it before I start my 30 day raw challenge on Jan 1st.
thanks!
I love your avatar btw!

I know, thanks! I was going to buy it myself but my fiance told me he'd get it for me as a christmas gift! I'm totally spoiled. :p The way I see it though is that it's an investment in my health and also the health of my fiance.. even though he's not going 100% raw like I am... he's going to be eating the raw foods here and there.
I can't wait to make onion flaxseed crackers and enchiladas!

*laughing* I throw away things that are "spoiled". I keep things that are "ripened". Whatcha think? :D
You are sooooo lucky to have someone who loves and supports you. Congrats to you!
