I didn't see any recipes with turnip in them in Living on Live Food... am I just missing them or does anyone have a good one or two? I juiced one with carrots, celery, and apples today, and it was pretty darned good! Even DH liked it.

The "pasta wrapper" for her Raw Ravioli is made from turnips :)

Hey JGex,

I was just gonna post something along the same lines...

I made Alissa's raviolis (so, so yum!!!) and have some left over turnip. Does anybody know of other recipes calling for them?

Many thanks!

There is also an apple turnip salad that RowanC is has raved about, page 464 in LOLF

Grated turnip makes a really nice cole slaw with other ingredients. (carrots, apples, whatever, and mayonnaise type dressing)

Then of course there's ravioli a la Alissa with mandoline-sliced turnip for the noodle.

I made a "turnip gratin" a long time ago with a fake cheese sauce (sort of reminiscent of scalloped potatoes), and fake breadcrumbs on the top.

Exurb details about your gratin please! Did you dehydrate or just mariante it? For how long?

For how long?

LOL forever in the dehydrator!!! The breadcrumbs were flax crackers crushed finely with a rolling pin in a Ziploc Bag. The top sort of took on a "cooked" look and feel from the dehydrator, the rest was dehydrator warm.

So sorry I can't give you a recipe, it was over a year ago that I made it! Maybe something like an Alfredo Sauce (there's one in Alissa's cookbook) would work, a little raw parmesan on top with the cracker crumbs. Pepper, sea salt throughout.

You can find it here: http://www.alissacohen.com/recipes.html#ravioli

If you don't have the book yet, I definitely recommend it.
