Peace to everyone on board!
I recently made a raw pizza recipe and was just curious as to how it would be stored once it's finished. How long will it last for? Does it need to be refrigerated? If so, how long after it's done in the dehydrator should I look to refrigerate it.?
I just finished making the pizza today, and what I'm planning is to have some leftover by this Saturday (2 days from now) so I can bring them when I travel to go visit family in Connecticut. Provided that I don't eat it all up before then :p i'm trying to figure if it would be ok to leave it in the dehydrator without having to refrigerate them... Any advice or suggestions????? Much appreciated!
PEACE!

You have leftover pizza? How can that be?
Just kidding!!!! Well, sort of. I don't keep food longer than about 3 days. I would NOT leave it in the dehydrator. My feeling is if you do that, then you'll not be traveling far from the throne. Refrigerate it and then put in dehydrator for warming.

LOL @ the leftover pizza! I appreciate your feedback! :)
Actually, it just finished in the dehydrator as of 1:30pm.. So I've only cut up a few small test slices just to see if it's complete. (there will be NO test slices tonight! :D )
I hear what you're saying. Just so I'm clear, when you say that you wouldn't recommend leaving them in the dehydrator, do you mean while the dehydrator is ON? Because right now since they've finished, I just have them in the dehydrator but it's just shut off now. Is that ok, too? If so, for how long until I should think about refrigerating them?
Here's what my plan looks like right now.. I'm preparing to travel around 1:30-2pm on saturday afternoon. So what I may do is have them refrigerated overnight from friday.. And then a few hours or so before I leave, I would place them back in the dehydrator and have them warm up long enough until I leave. I just don't want to cause any harm by having them dehydrated too long.. So I may have to play it by ear..
Thanks again for your feedback Revvell ;)

Let me be clear. Are you talking about the pizza crust or the pizza with veggies? If talking about the dried crust by itself, then, like crackers, probably no problem although I'd keep them in a container. If you are talking PIZZA with veggies, I'd refrigerate asap to prevent bacterial build-up.

IF there's veggies on it, then keep them refrigerated until you are ready to leave. I'm concerned about bacteria such as mold, etc. letting it sit in the dehydrator ~ on or off. The dehydrator should not be used for storage unless the food is absolutely dried to a crust ~ such as crackers. Anything else should be refrigerated until eaten.
Thanks again for your feedback Revvell ;)
Quite welcome. Just hoping I've got your information correct as I'm thinking pizza being crust plus veggies with the veggies being still soft. Am I confused on this?

Yep.. You've hit it on the head right there.
I've got the crust, but I also have the cheese with veggie topping (red bell peppers, leeks, mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes).
So I'm going to refrigerate them now.
Now since I don't have enough room in my refrigerator to put the entire tray inside, would it be sensible for me to just cut them up into slices and then whenever I want to heat them up, just individually put them into the dehydrator??

Yup! That way the rest stays cold and doesn't keep going in and out. Keeps stuffs fresher longer. I do that with Alissa's lasagne. Make a batch then cut it and store separately. When I want some, just take out and individual serving ~ or two.
